Canyon West Golf and Sports Club

Great course! Just no marshal to direct things. Some high schoolers jumped in front of us on #4 and we were held up by them the whole round.

First I have been playing here for years. Through a few owner/management changes and not like it used to be. Used to be welcomed by staff, now its what is your tee time, good luck out there. Just not as friendly as it once was. The driving range, mats only. Mats are fine with me to warm up, BUT they are torn up and in need of being replaced. The course is improving and the greens are getting better, and being expanded, great move! Over all 7/10 right now. Wife and I were engaged on the course #5 green.

Really great day with the course in excellent conditions. All greens is pretty good shape with only a few bare spots. Tees and fairways in pretty good shape as well. Played as a single so zipped around in 3 hrs and played pretty darn well. Excellent day overall!!

The Green are a 100% better than the last time we played which was probably 6 weeks ago. Overall course was in good shape

Played here the year the course opened. So great to come back and see how it’s matured. I have been coming out to the weatherford area for the last few weeks taking on Sugar Tree and Split Rail. Enjoyed them all but Canyon West takes the cake for me. Plays pretty short from the whites but still lots of challenges. Most memorable the par 5 4th, the elevated tee #8 WOW, par 5 #9 begs you to crush a drive, #10 WTH, finally the par 5 #18 makes me want to come back just to play it again. This will definitely be a place to shoot your low round for the year, unless the site of tee markers automatically triggers “get out the driver” :)

Ithe course is ran by people who have no idea what they’re doing. This is sad because I remember when this was possibly one of the best public courses to play in the metroplex. It has definitely gone downhill in a hurry. To bad for the residents in the neighborhood because this definitely affect their over home equity value. If I lived in the neighborhood I would definitely be forming a HOA committee protecting my asset. Sad ! You wanted my opinion and you got it. Just don’t delete it!

The course is in pretty good shape. Some of the tee boxes are hard, fairways are pretty good, and the greens have minor problems.

Better bring something drink there are only two water jugs on the whole course and no beverage cart. If you need a marshal you want find one. We get there early to get warmed up they wouldn’t till just before our tee time. There was over a thirty minute gap between the group in front of us but we had to wait till our tee time before we could start. The man in the pro shop was on an ego trip.

We hadn't played this course in over a year and were glad things had improved so much.

With more rain an TLC of the greens I expect it to be in top shape for our next outing. Oh, and those Bratwurst, wow!

First time here and really enjoyed it. Course layout is excellent. Very fair course and no gimmicks. The greens were sanded so I can’t really comment on their condition but the course was in great shape. Play was fast on front 9 but slowed up quite a bit on back 9. Never saw a marshal or a drink cart. Will definitely be back!

Though I wish it was a little more of a “hidden gem” this is a great course and the staff is always amazing. The only draw back is it is probably the busiest course in the area.
