Selsdon Park & Golf Club

Tee off was at 1032. Course is in great condition. Play was slow but there was a competition going on ahead of us. Would recommend playing there . Didn't use the off course facilities so can't comment on them.

Played this course for the first time, on a warm Saturday morning, one of the first groups out, so the course was in good shape and the pace was excellent, with only two groups ahead. Found this course to be quite nice, not really a TOO difficult, but a good round which could require most of the clubs in the bag, and thoughtful shots throughout. This included from several of the tees, rather than driving for distance. Was a hilly course, with a couple holes having some relatively blind tee shots but also added a little element of thinking about each shot. A few notable, scenic holes, and the dogleg left finishing hole with the backdrop was a great way to finish. Some holes were quite wide, so had some forgiveness, others quite narrow. Staff was supremely friendly, especially given it was 7am. Driving range was nice to have as well.

Greens were relatively flat and were a little slow on the day, but most were in good condition in terms of bumps/divots and grass grown in well. Only a couple of the greens were tiered. Rough was a little too long, making it difficult to find balls just a couple yards off of the fairway.

I would definitely play again. Just a nice, reliable public course and didn't seem overly crowded despite the mid 20's April day.

Quite a long course. In good condition apart from the odd green. which is hardly surprising bearing in mind recent weather. Mid week in the afternoon and we had the course to ourselves. Not good for Selsdon's coffers but got around very quickly which was good for us.Raised greens are an interesting feature. Will definitely play there again.

A mature golf course which for the time of year and in view of the recent rain, was better than many of the previous reviewers experienced, was far drier underfoot than I’d expected in view of comments by friends, all in all, for the price well worth a visit.

The weather was bad and it was very heavy underfoot but we had a great time on a challenging course in a beautiful setting so close to London

Played this course in summer and winter and like most it plays better in summer. Some fairly long holes with alot of uphill raised greens on approaches. Some bunkers are deep and tricky and well placed. Your do well to get round without hitting at least one bunker. Plays very different on yellows and whites. Keen to play whites sadly this round was set up for winter tees. Few mats in play and grass tees were forward. Standard for dec. Only 1 temporary green which was good considering thick frost.

Highly recommend course. Long hitters love it 5 x par 5s and some long par 4s. Plenty of room to unleash the big stick. Par 3s are challenging too 6th surrounded with bunkers, 13th off whites 230 yards, 17th signature is a challenge on any of the tees.

The course it's self has a nice layout, the pace of play was too slow with it being a 4hour 45 round green in poor condition bunkers not great... Not to bad for the money we paid

Gonna try play in summer see if it's any better as could see it being a nice course

When the rains come, Selsdon Park starts to get muddy and there are signs of this now. It is not unbearable but there are noticeable soft/muddy patches on quite a few holes. The greens have also slowed considerably since the summer and some are getting rather bumpy. This course is one of my favourites during the summer but from now until April, I will be searching out better drained options. The works at the hotel don't help.

Mature golf course. Excellent condition. Greens could be a little faster. Excellent value for money.

Really good course layout very undulating but well worth it.great on a special deal 2 for £28 on a Sunday.lot of work being done in hotel so limited golf course parking.only complaint greens a bit long could do with mowing.but on the whole very enjoyable,will play again.

In surprisingly good condition. Greens were very quick and got a very clear round. Played early in the day, not one wait.

Unfortunately pace of play was horrific, nearly 5 hours to complete the round with standing and waiting on every hole from the second, largely due to the number of 4 balls clearly off high handicap. We had a low handicap pair behind and in front but no one as getting through the 4 balls.

A great way to sample a course you might not of considered playing.

Cracking layout and fabulous holes not to mention great value on a 'hot deal' !!

It can become my favourite soon! Every hole has a little challenge, greatest layout as greens, tees are close but you hardly notice people (And it was a busy Sunday!)

We are coming back!

Have played here many times and course is always in good condition and usually not too busy. Today was so busy we were going to give up because of the queue on 2nd hole caused by big society. Ended up walking to 8th and had a nice clear round from there. Would have been very unhappy if we'd have paid full price for 18 holes but got a cheap round on internet so only getting 12 holes wasn't too bad for the price paid. Best to check if any societies in future. Would have been a nightmare if we had stayed behind them. Would have been looking at 5-6 hours I think

Course was not in good condition. Maybe due to recent day weather but still below par compared to other courses in the Croydon area.

Great course with some interesting holes and blind holes. Some long gradual climbes that make me consider a buggy for my next round there.

The course is a challenge with loads of dog legs and loads of hills that challenge you. The rough is very forgiving. Tee boxes are mostly okay but some have loads of sand on them and the bunkers were hard and filled with stones.
