I’d like a refund off golf now
Paid online with no indication that the course was only half open. And had to do the front 9 holes twice. I was not happy about this so only went round once. I do not like playing same holes twice. If I knew the course would’ve been like this. Which I should have received such information. Then I wouldn’t have booked it. NOT HAPPY
Conditions not great due to weather but course looked promising if weather was better
Very wet due to weather past few days but this course has vastly improved from 10 years ago. Very forgiving course ideal for high handicappers and beginners.
Played on a school day and first time I have played the course in a few years. The course is generally easy to play and a nice lay out. Shame there was no butty Van on the 5th anymore.
The was ok nice an open but i think the bunkers could do with abit of looking at they where in a bad way .
Average course overall it is very slow play and when i say slow i mean ques at every tee box, there is no dress code and there is people jogging and walking dogs as your playing, hardly any sign posts up to direct you to the holes, greens arent the best. Ok for price but plenty of courses for similar prices in and around Liverpool which i will sticking too in future.
Nice course but slow pace of play
Nice course, great layout and well kept for a municipal. Great value for money.
Only down side is very slow pace of play and groups in front do not let individual players play through.
Course well laid out, greens in need of some attention as loads of ball marks on a lot of them.
No signs about where next tee is
ground awful even in fairways
No club shop open to get a card or drink
The course were nice apart from sand bunkers and got stuck behind a 4 balls game what we’re very slow and there were also a 3 ball game behind them so only ended up doing the front holes what were disappointing I can go round in 3 hours and took a hour and half to do 4 holes what I think is really bad but not the courses fault as I go there 2-3 times a year and never had that problem before
Bowring - a lovely municipal that could be anazing
I’ve played this course several times as it is the nearest course to my home but I have never joined it. There are some really lovely holes but then four par fours under or just over 300yds, which in today’s world is just not long enough, especially as there are no hazards. The trees are fabulous and the greens are usually above average. Sadly being a municipal you get players who don’t repair pitch marks and I have seen damaged greens from local idiots riding bikes over them, when the course has been closed. But for the price it is still good value and there are a couple of truly lovely golf holes .
It’s also one of the oldest municipals in the country.
Great value for a round
- Well cut fairways
- Forgiving layout
- No warm up area or pitch and putt
- No drinks, food or pencils in reception
- Tee boxes are worn
- Greens very hard
- Bunkers poorly maintained
Worth it for £12 though.
