Lovely welcoming course
Staff were great on arrival and in the clubhouse - course is not too busy on weekend afternoons compared to other courses so a good opportunity to unwind - fishing is also available to golf members
Nice Course, just needs better communication!
We played this course a few months ago and it was a lovely course, good rate of play and interesting layout. However the tee’s were in awful condition, most were like hitting out of bunkers. We wouldn’t have minded if we were made aware of this before hand but it was a shock considering that it wasn’t even mentioned to us upon booking or check in.
Great improvements
Since last playing you can see the improvements made to the course. New bunkering, Pathways but the greens were in really good conditions for this time of year and how scorched the grass is this summer
Good day
Considering the dry conditions recently the course was in good condition with the Greens being superb. First seven holes were played at a steady pace however due to a very slow four ball four holes in front of us it backed up the rest of the round. No marshals on this course to encourage groups to a reasonable pace of play, not many courses now employee on course marshals unless you are on a premium course. Good day though and staff were excellent.
Was not made aware of maintenance !
I recently played at Southwick Golf Club and found the course itself to be enjoyable, with well-maintained fairways and greens. The clubhouse facilities were impressive, offering clean, spacious changing areas and excellent shower amenities. However, the experience was significantly impacted by the poor condition of the tee boxes. They were in rough shape, resembling bunkers in some areas, which made teeing off challenging, especially for those who don’t regularly play off tees. While I understand maintenance is necessary, the extent of the disrepair was disappointing and not communicated prior to booking. Had we been informed in advance, we might have reconsidered our visit. Overall, a solid course, but the tee box conditions need attention to ensure a better experience for all players.
Southwick in summer
Lovely course lots of fun and in good condition
Tee boxes poor
Had a great time
Enjoyable
Very enjoyable course with some challenging holes and fantastic views. Pace of play was little bit slow but nothing to do with club itself. Being start of the season the fare weather golfers were out. Will definitely be going back.
Green conditions are the worst ive played
Absolutely shocking green conditions on every hole. Not one put ran smooth, ball bouncing all over making it near on impossible to follow a line. I will never play here again. RIP off for the money I paid.
What's wrong with the greens?
There were no issues with the course from tee to green; however, problems arose once we attempted to land the ball on the green.
For whatever reason, the greens were covered in sand, inconsistent, no spin, feeling almost as firm as the car park.
Good pitch or approach shots were not rewarded, and we often had to play our next shot from the rough at the back of the green—good luck navigating an up-and-down from there!
Putting & chipping on a sandy green presents challenges with judging pace that I wasn't accustomed to.
You can forget playing to your handicap.
I paid £126 for three people, but I didn't enjoy the experience as it didn't feel like normal golf.
If these issues were addressed, I would consider returning.
In great condition
The groundskeeper should be very pleased with the course right now. Greens were in excellent condition, as were the fairways. Sunny afternoon made it even more enjoyable.
Great Round in testing conditions
Course was a little damp as we anticipate moving forward into October. Played here a lot being my local course. Interesting holes and pin placements. Greens were ok, but understandable due to weather, but no pitch marks or damage. Play was kept to pace and minimal waiting around. Overall great game today as a four ball.
PS try to keep away from trees as leaves on the ground make searching for your ball is almost impossible, even if you track the flight and landing.
Great course and very friendly staff
Great course and very friendly staff Made to feel very welcome
Mike
Very friendly club green conditions were not great, but to be fair were told prior to booking
Advise slow play be more strictly enforced - very arrogant behaviour from a particular 4 ball when lost ball had to have a find the ball party very frustrating otherwise a great friendly course

Course has matured nicely since over the years ,first visited in the 1980’s.
Fairways good, but clumps of loose cut grass laying in the rough made finding balls difficult.
Some bunkers with hardly any sand in them, some with plenty.no consistency.
Greens were pretty good , helped by hand watering in places.
Great staff and members, who allowed me as a single golfer, to makeup 3 & 4 balls.
