Stapleford Abbotts Golf Club - Abbotts Course

Played this course quite a bit now as it is very good however they seem to take multiple bookings for the same time which causes waiting around at most holes.

Overall a pretty good course with a good mix of holes. Condition is pretty good, although some of the tee boxes could perhaps use a little maintenance during the day.

The only real issue we had was groups of people from the gym and/or fitness facility on site running across the 18th fairway as we were coming down. Which is distracting at best and dangerous at worst.

Great course, does need to have some on course toilet facilities though these may have been closed due to covid.

Stapleford Abbotts is a lovely picturesque country course that is well set out with a number of challenging holes which make it fun for all levels of players. Played the course with my son and in contrast to the previous occasion when there had been a Society out before us, we managed to pretty much sail round and were hardly held up at all. The course looks nice and plays nice and would recommend it.

Lovely place to get out early. Played really well. Quick pace. Nice greens and plenty of water keeping you honest. Short par 5’s to get at. A nice place to play golf.

Good course, heavily favouring a draw off the tee, but waiting on most tee boxes (although it was peak Sunday times). Fairways and tee boxes could have been in better shape, but may have been down to the past week of heat.

First time on this course. Greens were well maintained. Layout was good. Will play here again.

Lots of Dog Legs in this pretty tight course, makes accuracy off the tee essential

Staff was more than welcoming when arriving. Course played very well, greens were true, all in all was a good experience

Really enjoy this place. Fairways and tees a bit average at the moment but you've got to make allowances given the times we live it. Greens were in good nick. £18, happy days!

Nice established golf course, not a driver friendly course, very strategic. Pace of play is painfully slow though. Overall good course of less people are playing.

A lovely golf course which is well designed and has some good challenges with strategically placed water hazards and bunkers. The course is in very good condition and was a joy to play. The only downside was that a large Society went out before us and that constantly held up play so it made for a long afternoon added to the dreadful weather (not the golf club’s fault obviously!!) which wasn’t much fun!

Easy to get to and plenty of car parking. A lovely all round course in the Essex countryside.

Arrived for our tee time at 2:10.

We didn’t tee off until 2:30 because of the amount of people in front of us.

After we finally feed off, we had a 20 minute wait between each hole.

After 2 hours of playing and only getting round 5 holes, we decided to walk off because we had evening arrangements we would of missed because of the pace of play.

The club booked too many people on to the course, without properly spacing the tee times out.
