Nice course- let down by soacing
Played this course many times. Nice for the price.
Extremely disappointed again though as booking online seems to have no effect on phone bookings, as I booked online and was met at the tee by another group who had booked the same time on the phone. And we wasn’t the only group on the 1st tee this had happened too, leading us to start 20 minutes and with sheer numbers it took 6 hours even though we were only a 2 ball there was queues 3 groups deep at every tee. Almost abandoned the round halfway.
Again the 3rd hole needs a bell as when you clear the crest of the hill as we had to wait for the green to clear was met with drives whistling past us which is extremely dangerous. Was only by sheer luck nobody got hurt and it happened to every group.
Course was in good nick but extremely let down by either bad organisation or greed on the course behalf.
Nice course , poor tee boxes
The course was in nice condition, greens were very good unfortunately most of the tees were in terrible condition , if not all were dome shaped so very difficult to get a flat tee area & 1 par 3 in particular the tee was completely bald with no grass at all almost like playing out of a bunker , really spoilt an otherwise pleasant round of golf
Tee boxes are mounds, need flattening
Sand in bunkers would be nice.
Good Course overall
Some challenging in areas, great value for money.
Heap and cheerful later in the day
If you’re looking for a cheaper round in the afternoon well worth it.
Track man range on site with a little par 3 course available if you want to work on your short game.
1 critique would be most tee boxes are very uneven and it’s difficult to find a level area. But apart from that would play again. Don’t know whether the prime tee times price wise are value as there’s so many courses within a 15 minute drive at around the same price.
Greens were short and well kept. 3rd fairway could do with a bell to let players know when to play as it’s a blind tee shot.
Would play again.
Great course bunkers need a bit of attention apart from that great course looking forward to becoming a member soon
Potential
Considering courses around it it’s not worth the money. Pay a bit extra to play much nicer!
Tee boxes are some of the worst around!
Wet but not muddy
Played after a lot of rain, so expected it to be a slog with lots of pick clean and place. However this was rarely required and tees, fairways and greens were all in great shape. Had the course mainly to ourselves. Will go again.
A decent course with some challenging holes, although the layout at times a little misleading.
A lot of overhanging trees making some holes very difficult to thread the needle-but a good challenge, although in autumn sun it makes finding your ball difficult with all the leaves
Conditions were generally good, a couple of holes with boggy ground under water (but there was a lot of rain the day before).
Would recommend the ground staff help
- clear leaves more frequently-particularly the 18th green
- A lot of tees are roughed up and are cambered, making the tee off stance unbalanced. Imo these need looking at.
This course is heavily used
This course is heavily used and a bit scruffy in parts- back nine better condition than front. Felt like a pay and play
Lumpy greens
I like the course layout, but this course has gone downhill. The greens are in terrible condition.
Also, playing as a 2 ball on Saturday, don't expect to whizz round as most of the members don't seem to know the rules about slow play...
Grass could do with cutting
Great course, fairways and fringes of fairways could do with cutting.
The bar is pretty grim compared to others of a similar price range (Chesfield or Wyboston for example)
The day we went it was very hot and it would have benefited from the tables outside having some umbrellas.
Overall a nice course just a bit of TLC and a nice bar opening to the terrace would be nice
Temporary tees
Greens and fairways were in good condition considering the weather / time of year. Temporary tees on much of the holes. Some father forward then you would like,. One par 5 became a par 4 for example. The course is very basic and straight bar one or two holes but some tough bunker positions, and two holes were you need to be hitting 260 carries or you need to play up. For the price £30 it was rather expensive considering most tees are temporary and it was not always clear where they were on the holes either nor is it clear where the next hole was when walking off the green. I would think in summer it isn’t a bad golf course and I could see myself playing there again but not in its current state and at the current price.
