First time around Whitehill and probably one of my new faves
Have played many local courses and this is quite different in that course plays so long. V scenic. Course in good condition (Sep25). Great staff.
Excellent Challenging Course
Played for my dad’s Birthday as a 4 ball - Course is in nice condition considering the weather we have had - greens were perfect. Got held up a little by a 4 ball in front, but all in all a challenging course with some very interesting holes and challenges
Worth a visit
Remote location and was a good challenge. Quite a few blind shots but there were plenty of targets to aim at. I would play the course differently second time round. Greens were generous and in great condition. Course appears to be a little raggy but with the summer we have had the greens were great to putt on. I was one of the first groups out and some of the bunkers were in need of help. Worth playing and I’d definitely go back.
Friday at Whitehills
An all round excellent interesting and challenging course with lots of elevation.
Overall given the very dry summer the course was in good condition and the greens were banging .
Definitely recommend to others.
Hidden gem
Really enjoyed playing Whitehills for the first time. Despite living 25mins away I've never played given the slightly above average (in my view) cost. Banked fairways, blinds shots, well placed bunkers, tiered greens that roll true present a challenge on every hole. Beware echoes of 'fore' as several precarious tee boxes and adjacent fairways add some jeopardy to the round, but adds to the fun in equal measure. Only concern was fairly slow play, several 2balls in carts ahead not being let through creating a concertina effect of waiting at several holes. However this didn't detract from the overall experience and I will surely be returning to this hidden gem.
Beautifully kept course
This course is stunning. It’s a lovely gem, a good challenge and some lovely holes. Always maintained to a high standard.
Good Greens
Good quality greens. A little slopey at some points but really good driving range you should want up at
Pace of play
Lovely golf course greens are really pure only thing letting it down is the pace of play it’s taken me 2 hours and 20 minutes to play 8 holes. Asked to ply through and was told no even tho the kid is taking 3 sometimes 4 off the tee.
Great course, awful pace of play
Played this course a 4 times now. Two of these being 9 holes, once 18 and most recently had attended to be 18 but could only manage 9. The layout is great, front 9 especially. Grass driving range, and a nice clubhouse. However, on a few occasions the pace of play has been abysmal. Sunday took us 3 hours to finish the front 9, no Marshalls keeping their eye on pace of play. For the price, you'd expect the clubhouse to be ensuring pace is maintained. If we had continued it would have been a 6 hour round, not ideal, if you have the time then it's great but I'd avoid if you want to be able to pay a properly paced round.
Country Course
Beautiful countryside gem of a course.
Layout was challenging, course was in very good condition despite the heavy rain recently.
My partners shoe sole detached during the round (hilarious), and after a phone call the pro shop caddied down a new set of shoes for him to finish the round with (yes, we had the buy them after, which was expected).
Great course, great club, lovely staff.
Well maintained course
Course and greens were in very good condition for the time of year. The Green keeping staff were hard at work across the course during our visit, but were very respectful and allowed us to play through without interruption.
Look forward to returning in the summer.
