Course in great condition.
Staff great in shop and bar.
Only negatives......tee mats and a very very slow 4 ball in front.
Course pretty frozen.. overall very enjoyable considering the time of year.. held up by a very slow four ball who wouldn’t let us through for nine holes, but sometimes it is expected on public courses. The green keepers have done an excellent job keeping the course open in such difficult conditions.
Unplayable
The course was so bad you had to rent hedgehog wheels, they were so muddy it took 10 minutes to clean the mud off, as soon as we got on the course they were caked in mud. The fairway was so muddy you could not tell it from the first cut
The greens were full of chunky mud from peoples shoes and we left after the 7th hole as was so bad.
The green keeper declared it open ! Even the pro said the course should have been closed
We were looking forward to playing there but would not go back
I’m sure that had many complaints this day and surprisingly it’s still open !
There were trolleys abandoned as people had given up
Apparently the council don’t like it being shut ! Good luck in sorting the course out if you keep it open any longer as it’s awful
We had beginners and advanced on this day
Great condition considering half the other course nearby closed due to the rain!
Well drained. Just a few holes a bit muddy. Mostly food. Greens in great condition. Highly recommended.
Good practice course
Very reasonably priced and whilst not in the greatest condition it was very playable.
Good but not great
Course condition was good but pace of play was fairly slow. A good deal of waiting on the tee. The course was surprisingly busy for a Monday morning. I thought £32.00 was expensive for the course.
Good Value Public Course
First time playing here for a few years. As an older chap I found some of the par4s on the long side. Plenty of positives though. Greens and tees were in very good condition for all the weather this winter. Like a lot of places the fairways and bunkers are suffering. Apart from the length there are a lot of challenging holes. No hold ups playing on a Sunday PM. For £25 on a hot deal this is great value.
Very good very nice 👍🏼
Considering it rained the whole day pretty much, the course was in good condition. For a public course, it's very good. A few puddles, as expected with the amount of rain that day, but it was good to play. I had my first ever birdie too. Will definitely be coming here more often.
Lovely public course
Played Stockwood Park at short notice as the weather was deteriorating later in the week. Knew it was a public course but had no problems booking a tee time.
Pace was initially slow but allowed to play through, as a two ball we finished in just over the 3hr mark.
Greens were much better than expected having played some other local courses the week before.
Nice food and drink after in the 19th.
Lovely Course
Lovely course with a wide variety of interesting holes. Always in great condition. Suitable for high handicappers but also challenging enough for low handicappers. The pace of play can get a bit slow when it is busy.
Great course for higher handicaps
with a high chance of getting a respectable score if your a beginner like myself.
I’ve played on a few decent courses but this one always gets me excited to come back.
Immaculate tee area, fairways and greens.
Most of the par 4/5 s are quite forgiving.
Par 3s are quite challenging.
Greens are stunning.
The staff here are really friendly.
Decent breakfast and a lovely pint.
Although I’ve played here a few times and the flags and cups have been stolen the security could do with improveding but that’s what you get with a public course with scumbags living near by.
Just a shame it’s in Luton !
Wet but enjoyable round
Very wet conditions but enjoyed my time at this golf course.
The course is well set out and as it was the first time I played here was easy to navigate.
Have recommended to a friend and will be back again
