Stockwood Park Luton
Well si boosted and easy to find, . Ample car parking. Driving range, 9 hole academy course and the main 18 holes. Plenty to go at for any age. Reception is welcoming and friendly, bar and cafe does a decent selection of food. The course is set amongst mature trees and several holes are tight. It’s a fair challenge. The greens are brilliant especially considering it’s a public course. Nice. Balcony overlooking the 18th to have a drink and ponder your score.we will be back.
Stockwood Park
Easy booking through GolfNow, great value course, with friendly staff and good facilities, would recommend
Good course but pace of play can be very slow
Lovely, varied course which is always well maintained.
When it is not busy it is a pleasure to play but the pace of play can be painfully slow at busy times.
Great course, awesome food
Despite the dry summer the greens were superb. Fairways, understandably dry, but still in good nick. Course has lots of character, some lovely par 3’s and the homemade pizza at the end was amazing. Best all-course I’ve played for a long time. Will defo return
A tidy course. Good value for money.
Played yesterday and enjoyed our 2nd round of golf at this venue. The fairways were obviously parched due to the hot conditions but the greens were smooth and ran nicely with no obvious pitch marks and looked well maintained. Not the most scenic course I’ve played and also under a flight path which obviously can’t be helped but for me that’s not a real problem. The course is approximately 12-14000 steps so I would say that’s a smaller to average sized course. Each hole is relatively easy to find. They had someone driving round in a buggy offering snacks and cool drinks. A nicely little touch that goes a long way in my book. I had an amazing club sandwich afterwards and a lovely pint of Moretti in the sunshine. Great place to play golf near a busy part of the U.K. also easy to find as it’s just off the M1.
Nice local community course
I have played a lot of courses in my time (not very well) and I can’t say this one is bad.
Most of the holes are quite short for their par so a good accurate drive can result in a good score, but the course is intricate and tight enough for a bad drive to leave you in trouble.
Enjoyed the round and if I’m in the area again I will play again.
Good course, but lots of peope wondering/cycling/dog walking around. around
A lot of the park visitors do walk and cycle around on a nice day. I.e. cycling across fairways, walking up the Fairway to the tee as you tee off, etc.. oh yeah and loads of dig walkers. Lots of dogs of the lead. It was a bit like playing golf in the middle of a fair!
Stockwood Park
Lovely course in good conditions and very green. Trees on last hole are a little overgrown
Good value for money
Forgiving wide fairways on a pretty parkland course. Fairways and greens could do with some improvement. On flight path so good for plane spotters. Only issues were dogs running all over the fairways and people wandering aimlessly across and having picnics on the sides of the greens. Would be a lot safer if they stuck to the paths and dogs are on leads.
Disappointed with Course Condition
I've not played the course for maybe 10 year's but it certainly wasn't in as bad a condition as now? The Greens had been hollow tined which is usual for this time of year but the holes on the Greens had not been filled in with sand usual?
Also disappointing was signage as you would leave one hole and then struggle to find sign to next hole!
Will visit again
Bacon roll and latte on arrival - sun shining - and 1st round in 18 months - greens in good condition and fairways coming to life - enjoyed and will be back
Excellent Municipal Course
Varied and moderately challenging layout. Usually in very good condition. Very enjoyable to play. Speed of play can be a bit variable depending on when you play.
Great golf
Stockwood park always been a great course.Didn’t like playing off the winter tees but understand why.Look forward to playing again when on the proper tees.Other than that a really enjoyable day 19th worth a visit.
