Greens in good condition
The fairways are very dry with the ball running a considerable distance but in view of the prolonged period of hot weather the greens are in very good condition.
Good challenge
Great friendly staff, good value for money for our 4 ball playing through tee-off times, a challenging course.
A good course for a 3 hour round
The noise from neighbouring Bristol airport may put some off .
This is a good course for those looking for somewhere that they can get round in 3hrs or so.
The greens are in very good condition with enough rough on the course to punish wayward shots.
There are few challenging holes to offset those which are typical dead straight parkland.
Great course but.....
I love this course but we followed a Seniors Stapleford and frankly the organisation was poor and the lack of attention by the Seniors to pace of play, to say the least, lacked. The Seniors went of in twos and three when fours could have been more appropriate and saved time but really, respect others and move forward as quickly as possible . Filling in score cards stood on the green, not teeing off until the players in front are in the green on a par 5 beggars belief. Love this club but won't join unless players are respected.
Tall pines
Course in great condition bearing in mind April weather. Played when hot. Could have done with water station to refill. Overall not a single complaint. Good work ground staff.
A great way to while away a afternoon.
Greens & fairways in great condition for time of year. Looking forward to going back in the new year with a few friends.
Slow play killing this course
Great course, good club, great condition but please please please do something about slow play.
Yesterday in abthree ball took almost one hour over normal. Followed a four ball who ambled along.
That's down to course management.
Pace of play a real issue
Played Tall Pines 10+ times in the last year. At the right time, you can get round in 3 hours or less. At the wrong time, behind the wrong groups, it can take 5 hours. On this day we teed off behind two 3 balls, 3 wives and their 3 husbands. We were expecting to be held up a bit, but at a convenient moment, that they would let us through as a 2 ball, who being reasonably fit and young, would not hold them up once we got infront of them. But no hint of that, no apology for their poor and slow play. Took 3 hours to play 10 holes before unfortunately one of the group of women broke their ankle, at which point we helped before giving up and heading home. Shame as I enjoy playing Tall Pines as it's a local course for me but with the slow play issue being a regular thing I can't say I'll be back again soon.
Well Worth the Journey
Tall Pines is 40+ minutes from home, but everything one looks for in a golf course makes the journey well worthwhile. The setting is extremely pleasant once one gets used to a plane or two taking off not far away; the fairways are clearly defined, as is the first cut, and on Tuesday they were in fabulous condition. While the course offers a range of challenges ( although water hazards are not a feature) a decent player ought to accept the blame for a poor performance.
We found everybody very friendly on the course and in the bar. We are blessed with several courses nearer than Tall Pines - and we play some more frequently - but TP is consistently the best.
FORE!!!
If you want a course with some tremendous views and a bit of plane spotting, then this is the one for you, but expect to be hearing the word FORE shouted throughout your round. This is a very tight course with several fairways running parallel with each other, when the course is busy like it was today then balls will be flying everywhere. This course is well maintained but lacks a bit of character, there is nothing that makes this course stand out apart from the views. Played as a 2 ball and started at12.45, course was extremely busy with 4 ball groups on every hole, that said the 4 balls were good enough to let us through. Wouldn't be rushing back to play this course any time soon.
Nice course
A lovely course that I would play again.
Unfortunately, we (2 of us) got stuck behind a four ball on the third. At no point did they offer for us to play through. Made for a long day.
Tall pines is a great golf course
What a fabulous golf course tall pines is .superb condition. lovely staff .superb greens and layout .
Views are just beautiful. Great value for money .would recommend to every golfer and society.
A must play course.
brilliant
Played here many years ago it has now grown up into a fantastic test for all standards. Course condition was the best we've played so far this year, especially the greens and the fabulous views were a bonus. The airport is very close by but even that did not detract from from a wonderful afternoons golf.
Tall Pines golf course
Really enjoyed round- some jaw dropping holes, have played the game for 50 years all over the place there is at least two holes which I highly rate! There are several straightforward but pleasant holes and some so near to the runway that you can wave to the pilot. Overall great value. Alun hcp 5
Great Course & Service
Best course we have played so far in North Somerset and one we will be returning too very soon. The welcome by the club shop was a great start, very friendly and informative about the course. Fantastic practice area and the entire course is very well looked after. Greens in particular were in fantastic condition. Cannot fault it in any area.
Great Course
First play at this course. Forgiving on wayward tee shots, and challenging for all levels of ability.
Slow play ruined round
Course in great condition for time of the year, greens still running fast. Booked a tee time for 11.30 but that was moved back 30 minutes due to a society having already booked the tee for an hour. Got held up by 7 four balls and 2 two balls infront, some of the group from the society were regularly finding the wrong fairway which made things difficult. A fairly easy course to play, very flat and always easy to find a wayward tee shot and still have a reasonable chance at making a decent score. Would come back again but this is the second time slow play has put a damper on the round.
