Nice course but a bit of a let down

Really friendly staff, but very disappointed not to be able to get a quick beer after the game, only members and a golf society apparently . Though it was bad that two guys couldn’t have a quick drink on a hot day before leaving.

Course was nice, but let down by no maintenance on bunkers , with grass and weeds growing out of them all, along with most tees very barren and desperate for water. A few of the greens also were quite barren and just needed maintenance . Having said that the fairways were good and overall had a pleasant round.

Would have been fuming had I paid more for the round due to the lack of maintenance

I enjoyed the round on a fine day with a moderate breeze. I was around in 3.5 hours with groups ahead and behind.

I was surprised to see weeds growing in the bunkers, some will overgrown and I suspect they were not raked by staff prior to the start of the day. Even though there are no rakes for players at this time, it is disappointing not to see them kept in better condition by the grounds staff.

The fairways were good, the rough trimmed and the greens generally in good condition, with some attention needed in places.

For someone who had not played there before and was playing as a single, there are some gaps in the signing to the next tees where they are a good distance apart. As an example, coming off the 17th green, I had to enquire as to the location of the 18th tee. However this did not detract from the enjoyment of the round.

Potential

difficult one because post lockdown but think visitors should be made aware that condition was poor. Greens and bunkers not in a good way. Front 9 felt forgotten about but back 9, although greens were still in bad nick, had a great layout and better fairways which made up for it

Waste of £26

If it was looked after would be a lovely course . The greens were in awful condition, bunkers full of weeds and grass too long. Won’t be going back

Family day out

We played this course as it was mid way for us and our 2 sons, one from Bristol and one from London. We found it very open and a fair test of golf. Unfortunately the greens were very poor this may because of the Covid crisis. The bunkers were also in need of some attention. Once these two issues have been resolved we would definitely return.

Horrific conditions, all bunkers gur, greens unplayable

I played this course around 4 or 5 years ago and wasn't a bad course to play, moderate challenge with reasonable conditions for a golf break venue. I re-visited today and HORRIFIC is the only word that can be used... ZERO of the bunkers are playable and advised that local rule is to drop out of every bunker which for me ruins the ability to be punished for a poor shot and the whole experience. The greens... WOW... (picture attached)... you would be better off going to a pitch and putt. Worst condition I've ever seen a course and especially at a mid to premium price. NOT WORTH THE VISIT.

Shocking condition

This seems really sad as the layout was good but I have never played a course is such a shocking condition. Bunkers are overgrown, greens are shot to bits.
