Cromwell Course
What a fabulously well designed course.
Ever hole has a different difficulty, with lots of right to left doglegs, which really make you consider course management.
The long (some 50yrds!) greens, give you a great chance at putting out for Par, but the various layers and undulations keep you on your toes. There are also lots of ‘well placed’ catch bunkers to hold you up!
The scenery is absolutely breaktaking and every hole is a pleasure to play. Some have extremely tight avenues to negotiate, so you need to be straight off the Tee.
The course is closing (for ever!) At the end of September 2024, which is why we wanted to play it before its demise. The surrounding vegetation (brambles & stinging nettles) have started to be let run wild and some bunkers have been designated GUR, which is a real shame but understandable.
We much prefer Cromwell to the Crown course and would highly recommend a bash, before it’s gone for good. A lovely challenging course to play. (3:30hrs a round)
Great Course
Fabulous course, excellent game, perfect weather, first we played there, but won’t be the last, shame it’s closing down,.
Pretty good again
I’d not played Tracy park for around 7 years and heard bad reviews, played the Crowell course and it was in great condition, greens were amazing, only issue was the bunkers were in a mess and often GUR, however they seemed to have recently got a delivery of sand which was piled up presumably to sort this issue.Played on a cheap twilight price and definitely worth the money
Great views and course layout, only other slight let down is the bar area is essentially a portacabin next to such a beautiful building
Rough around the edges
Interesting course, but poorly maintained. Ok if you need somewhere local to play for a change, but not worth £35. Other nearby courses are much better maintained. Lots of bunkers were GUR, the rough was long and lots of pitch marks on greens. Could be much nicer but in need of some investment.
Not worth £30
Greens good considering recent weather conditions, several tee boxes not in play and moved almost halfway into the fairway making some holes extremely short, no signage to indicate this, but still charge £30.
One of the best golf courses in England!
Tracy Park is undoubtedly the best golf course in Bristol, and there are several reasons to support this claim. Firstly, the location of the course is unbeatable. Situated in the picturesque countryside of Wick, Tracy Park offers stunning views of the rolling hills and lush greenery. Another aspect that sets Tracy Park apart from other courses in Bristol is its top-notch facilities. The clubhouse is a modern and luxurious building that offers a range of amenities, including a pro shop, bar and restaurant, and changing rooms with showers. The staff at Tracy Park are also incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure that every visitor feels comfortable and well taken care of.

Needs TLC
A very good course that could be a beautiful course if it was given a little more tender loving care. A course is only as good as it’s members. If the members can’t be bothered to repair pitch marks or replace divots then it always look bad. The fairways need cropping. It was more like playing on the local common than a golf course. The drag that then long grass created slowed down the run of the ball. That saying it was a nice night, a 3 ball in front of me allowed me to play through. It could be beautiful course if given a little TLC.
Tracy Park
Cromwell Course. Excellent layout, with a good variety to the holes, some short and tight, some long, some with water and all with greens that have some amazing contours. The views were stunning too, once atop the hill. Well worth the price we paid, and hope to play again when it’s firmer, which will bring a whole new set of challenges.
Great course if you can get a tee time.
Untidy
I was a member at Tracey for 10 years and looked forward to my return. However, after 5 holes I realised why I left. Unfortunately, the course isn't maintained to the standard it deserves. Bunkers are unkempt, no defined fairways and very average greens.
Tracey Park is now very much a Hotel with 2 golf courses, opposed to a Premier golf course with accommodation available.
Not great I'm afraid
Tough but great course!
I highly recommend this course to any golfer looking to challenge themselves. It starts off with nice and open fairways with minimal cautions surrounding the holes, but as you get on it becomes more narrow or blocked with trees, water etc. giving you a bigger challenge to finish the hole - but overall, it's a fantastic, well kept and enjoyable course. I highly recommend it!
Very good
Friendly staff. Green’s and tee’s in good condition. Fairways firm but to be expected considering the long hot dry spell. Good variety of holes. All round a good experience. Would definitely play again and recommend.
Enjoyable course
Played the course after work and it was in great condition and wasn't busy at all. Each hole is different to the next and the course overall represents a fair challenge
Cromwell, delightful course!
Played on a Sunday afternoon after booking through the app. We were a three ball and didn’t see another person on the course, perfect round of golf. Course was in good condition apart from one green that needed a little TLC. Highly recommend a round.
Sadly lacking TLC
I last. Played the course approx 8 years ago and then it had good fairways, well kept bunkers and the complex seemed to be up and coming.Sadly, it seems the green keepers have had more than a few weeks off. The welcome in the pro shop.aside (excellent) it was a disappointment all round. The greens were very good but there was very little definition on the fairways which had a lot of growth especially daisies making it difficult to spot balls actually on the fairway. The bunkers were weed strewn as were the very rough cart paths.
Off course again seemed surreal. The pro shop had moved from a very attractive building to a glass building half its size whilst the spikes bar and changing facilities were in a portacabin.
On finishing in front of the.hotel chairs were on their sides and appeared to have been ignored by staff.
Overall, it made me appreciate my home club
Such a shame
I have played this course on many occasions over the years but it’s fair to say, course maintenance is non existent
The tee boxes are extremely poor but that’s nothing compared to the state of the greens.
This course is really interesting (which is why I return to play it on occasions) but it really is not looked after we’ll at all and the round is finished off with possibly the tackiest clubhouse ever !
They’ve been saying this is temporary however they’ve been saying this for a decade !
