Lansdown Golf Club

Have played Lansdown a fair few times over the past few years and I can forgive some of the substandard idiosyncrasies of the course (waiting at tee boxes due to the roads you have to hit over, walking back on yourself to tee boxes, repetitive holes etc.) as it’s often good value and in reasonable nick.

However this time the course was in the worst condition I have seen it. The tee boxes were exceptionally bad, it appears they have not been watered whatsoever over this dry spell. Some of the greens were equally shocking too. Yes it’s been very hot, but it is borderline playable. Won’t return for a while if this is what they’re serving up.

I had been told that the Greens at Lansdown were very good, so I wanted to play there. Yes, we have had very hot weather, but having played 12 different Courses in the last 8 weeks, I was taken aback by the state of the Tee Boxes, and the Greens, in comparison. I would not go back.

Maybe the recent winter weather and they will improve?

I booked the course via GolfNow for myself and two of my mates. We had fantastic time right from checking in at the Proshop until the end of our game.

Landsdown were able to accommodate our society when our original course was flooded, and what a great day we had. Some great holes, some good holes and a couple of straight up and down holes - but the course was in excellent condition and the staff superb. We will return.

staff in clubhouse were very friendly and polite, course was in great condition, will be coming back again.

On the day we played only 14 holes were available due to a race meeting next door. The price was reduced, but this was not mentioned in the golf now app. The course is flat but elevated providing some great views.

Pro shop was friendly and very helpful,the course was in great condition,some nice holes with some far reaching views.

I would recommend this course and look forward to playing a round again.

A really well maintained and pleasant golf course to play. It was my first time playing here and will definitely return to have another round in the near future. The course is challenging but rewarding as well. Only 14 holes were available due to Bath Racecourse being open, and it would have been good to have been aware of this beforehand however the price for the round reflected this. My only qualm would be that the revised course layout wasn't the easiest to follow and we often took a wrong turn due to hole closures. Better signage and directions would have been appreciated.

Played with 3 friends, course held up well considering the rain we've had, all in all good value and would recommend lansdown.
