Nice little Gem undergoing refurbishment
This was first time playing Ullesthorpe and the Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The club is undergoing some major improvements. The course was in great condition and although a couple of holes were a little confusing with signage (3rd/18th) it was a very enjoyable round of golf.
Definitely try it out
Very pleasant round of golf
Friendly pro shop, course was good but needing water though all courses do at this time of year.
Good layout, and would play here again.
Great course
Really nice course. Good layout and some extremely challenging greens (which are in great condition)
Returning to a reworked course
The course has changed a lot over the intervening 20yrs but all for the good. Excellent condition despite drought conditions. Greens very true and in good order. New facilities being opened by April 2026 (Huge Golf Shop 24 bay driving range) , already open a short game practice area plus on site is hotel and gym. Staff friendly and accommodating had a buggy due to knee injury but this was arranged at the last minute but encountered no problems at all and had a drink at the 19th hole after the round and was made very welcome.
Knocker Horne
Love the corse just a bit slow because of a small society group
But didn’t mind Isi what is but was enjoyable
Shockingly bad greens
Treated my brother to a birthday round of golf heard good reviews of the golf course the greens were groved and sanded like playing on winter greens but when booked it said nothing about the greens but took 106£ to play the course will not be going back there been robb of our money Micky mouse course
Enjoyable course
Enjoyable course with interesting holes and challenging greens, slightly disappointing that the 9th hole was shut due to drainage issues and we wasn’t made aware of this. However would play again for sure
Lovely, well kept course
This was my first time playing Ullesthorpe and my initial thoughts were that the putting green was very well thought out and tended to.
The staff were really nice and the club shop and club house were great.
The course itself start really, really well on holes 1-3 which just enough hazards and beautifully kept fairways and greens.
From holes 4 through to 8 were little open for my personal liking but still very well kept nonetheless. Holes 9 & 10 were great par 3’s, each with their own hazards and touch of design.
Many of the back 9 were very open up and a little hazard less for me until 16-18, which I found were all excellent holes. Especially the 18th with its drivable fairway but high risks to attack the green for eagle chances. GIR is easily achievable but again, the attack of the green has many hazards and a great slope to negotiate.
In all, the greens were pretty slow but that may have been down to the time of year and time of day. They were however, all very well kept.
The overall thought for me was that 50% was difficult enough to keep me interested and the remaining 50% was a little too open and greens were easily attack able from the tee.
Excellent course
Thanks for my excellent first time visit Ullesthorpe hotel and golf course.
Good course had fun
Good day out but at the moment have paid twice due to my booking error ( choose current date instead of required date Ref.402968371) as discussed with your representative last Friday by telephone. Could you please advise next steps
Time of year
Good layout easy to navigate. Fairways have held up the winter well . Greens not so well . But there are a lot of improvements being made . Staff are very friendly and helpful . Will definitely play again later in the year .
£35 for temporary tee's and greens!
I cannot believe they can charge £35 when half the course is on temporary greens and tee's to the point where my England golf won't even let you score a card. This was barely a £20 round for me it's a shame they have the prices so high.
Swampland
I prepaid through the GolfNow website the day before the game itself. It rained overnight and still continued to do so on the morning of the game. I asked the pro shop if the course was still open, the answer was ‘yes’ but it should not have been opened at all in my opinion because the greens were like jelly , the fairways were so wet that water came over the top of my shoes on 4 occasions. I would not be happy with the golf club if I was a member that allowed play when it was damaging to the course. To make matters worse we found that the clubhouse was closed after the game. Not happy! 😡
Poor Playing Conditions
Played this course before and recommended it friends so played as a four ball. Overall very disappointed. No statement at time of booking regarding temporary greens nor temporary tees (I don't mean mats) nor any mention of badly infected greens by GolfNow or by the course itself. Overall temporary greens and greens proper were unplayable. Certainly was not worth the money and had I been aware of the above I wouldn't have booked. Cannot recommend this course which is a shame having played there previously. My playing partners have stated they would not play there again.
