Nearly
Today was ‘nearly’ a good round.
A 2 ball just about to tee off in front of us got joined up with another 2 ball that contained a guy who was enjoying his first round. Needless to say that the pace right from the first to the 12th was painfully slow.
Most frustratingly was that there were no players booked on after the 2 ball immediately behind us- so had they booked in behind us then play would have been less frustrating for all of us.
Greens 1 and 2 have been air rated and were difficult. However, the rest were fabulous. Fairways are equally well manicures and another great touch were the ‘pathways’ mowed between holes- a ‘classy’ idea and something I’ve not seen before- great!
I didn’t make the most of the fabulous conditions and played like a man with no hands! I was dreadful- but the course wasn’t to blame.
Definitely be back there soon- when it’s more quiet!
Very well presented Golf Course
This course ranks well above average for it's playing condition and is very enjoyable to play.
The fairways tend to be very generous and the rough is quite playable
The greens were in excellent condition and the bunkers well maintained.
Most of the holes are well designed and well separated but there are a few holes including 1 & 2 which let the layout down slightly.
all of our group thoroughly enjoyed the round and agreed that it was great value for money in it's current condition
Single Ball
Had a free afternoon an it was the only course locally. First green was temporary which was a shock considering it the middle of summer. Greens had been holitined. Very expensive and quite full course. Don't think I'll play here again for the price.
Nice course let down by maintenance
Definitely not a £30 course, would pay around £10-£15 based on condition. None of the tee boxes were in good condition, very dry and dusty. Majority of greens were fine but a few had excessive sand on them. Layout was interesting, relatively short course and fairly open from the tee but some well thought out holes and hazards that required good shots.
Shame about the work
We playing it on a crisp but nice day. Considering the bad weather conditions the course was in good condition with the greens running quick and true. The main down fall is the work being done on 1 and 2, meaning they were out of action and the course layout has been changed. A couple of the replacement holes were rubbish. Its fairy short overall with most of the par 4's being a drive/3 wood and a wedge or short iron in to the green. That said apparently the layout will change again in 4 months when works are complete. Im sure that will make a difference.
