Wakefield Golf Club

Been trying to get on this car long time I managed to get a reduced teatime turned up at four for 445 teatime and the staff not let me on at 4:10. I was behind a couple of lads in a buggy and I was walking with a trolley, but I seem to be waiting on quite a lot of holes behind them. They never let me through, quite happy with the course big fairways green very bouncy but would play this again

Couldn't fault anything. A nice variety of quality holes.

Not what I would describe as an easy walk as described

Top tip hit the fairways as playing out of the rough requires some extreme strength

Played the course for the first time, nice opening hole and good 1st par 3. Overall nice course, good greens.

Great course, friendly and helpful staff. Watch out for big bunkers

This is a well established and excellently maintained golf course. The members are super friendly and approachable offering good advice and letting you play through so not to delay you.

I cannot recommend this course enough to you if you want an excellent challenge and test if your game, in a nice friendly environment.

Wakefield golf club is the best course in the area.

The course is well manicured and is always maintained top notch. The fairways, the bunkers and the greens,have got to be top of the league table regarding golf course maintenance. I take my hat off to all concerned green keepers, management, and anyone else who may have had an input. The course is quite stunning. The club house food and choice of food and drink is also ranked up there with the course. The service is first class,with a very friendly atmosphere.

What can I say, 3 miles from my home and the first time playing here. Staff were great, members really helpful and welcoming. Course it a good challenge and a good walk. Will definitely be back in the summer.

The pace of play was really good too.

Greens far too sandy, rest of the course was good, just ruined the round

Greens aerated and sanded made putting impossible charging £30 for this experience was unfair.

Good well kept course. Friendly clubhouse.

Just one observation, being new to the course we go a little lost on some hole. Could do with some signposts between holes.

Course was in good condition for time of year it has a great layout will definitely come back in summer to play. Would recommend a visit to anyone.

First time i played at the course, booked an early tee time: pro shop was closed, nobody on site, no score card no orientation around course. Ended up starting 30min late, after nobody arriving, messed up order of play, ended up skipping two holes to get round a four ball and three ball to create space for myself. Good course, AWOL staff

Played today tee booked for 10.27 pro said problem with system however I could go off at 10.10 am as there was a gap on the Tee Great course wide good fairways tree lined with no heavy rough. Greens still fairly fast after lots of recent rain. Some lovely short par 4 s enjoyed 11 12 and 13. Nice reachable par 5s. Weather fine sunny 14 degrees. in summary a very good fairly flat course I carried no problem. Shot 92 off Handicap of 22 so very happy 70 Nett. Thank you Wakefield Golf club great value for £25 on Golf Now will play again if I see the course on Golf Now again for this price. Would love to join but £600 joining fee and £1150 a bit step for me sadly. Thx again Paul.

I have played this course for years and loved it. However the grounds man has completely spoiled it by taking out all the shrubs and bushes. This had made the course too easy and ruined the appearance and feel of the course.

Only thing now is they can’t go back, it will take years to get it back in shape.
