West Derby Golf Club

Booked this course For myself and a friend and to my surprise the unhelpful miserable man in the shop said we have to play with another person. This was not explained when I booked. As it turned out the other guy was a good bloke but still, I would never of booked if told this prior booking. Greens are very good but the course not in the best state. Won’t be rushing back.

arrived 20 minutes before tee time and greeted by very welcoming staff.the course was in excellent condition especially after the recent heavy rain.greens were in outstanding order and so was the rest of the course. can only praise the green staff for producing a course in such a fantastic condition well done green staff. look forward to returning

Lovely parkland in great condition considering the rain we have had recently. Greens were immaculate. Would definitely play again.

On what was a horribly hot day, a very enjoyable round of golf was had at West Derby! Nice course and some great holes - not overly long although par 5s are longer to compensate a bit. Definitely need to think about where to put your tee shot on some of the par 4s and playing it a second time you would have more of a clue with places not to be in! Condition was great with greens running okay if a little inconsistent in pace. Some of the water features etc are nice and tees etc were all in good condition. Good to see greenstaff out on the course working - they obviously take pride in what they present. One of the par 5s had been cut to a par 4 so you had to tee off in the fairway for some reason but that is the only minor point. A nice drink in the bar afterwards topped off a great experience. Would play again for sure.

First impressions where not good. The member of staff in the pro shop had zero charisma, it wasn’t a warm welcome.

The course itself was ok, the greens are very good but the rough and surrounding areas could do with some TLC. Patchy, different lengths of grass gave us a feeling of being on a municipal course.

A 3 ball in front of us had no urgency whatsoever, they had the walking pace of 3 old men and held everyone up. I don’t think I’ll ever return. A real shame.

Good tee times so no hold ups, really fast well looked after greens and all round good course.

Fairways and greens in great condition will definitely going back

This is a decent course with great greens at this time of year, Well kept with friendly staff, Run by nice people who make you feel welcome, Captain is a real nice guy too, would definitely recommend !!!

Played for first time and thoroughly enjoyed it. Greens were excellent, fairways were good and general course condition was very good. Good mix of holes with some holes requiring a bit of course management. Sat Nav messed us about and we arrived a little late. Our other GN playing partners were on the first tee, so we advised them to go and we would catch up at the second hole. We tried calling the pro but couldn’t get thru, advised as we were GN there was nothing they could do. So apart from missing out playing the first hole, thoroughly enjoyed the round and the company. Will play again and will recommend.

booked for a 2 ball made to play with a total stranger who had also booked on golf now who had just learnt to play this year, ruined the day.

Really enjoyed the course, greens were true and lots to think about when approaching around the them. Course is well laid out and well kept.

I would definitely play here again.

First time playing West Derby and was really impressed. Fairways and greens were really good. Not the longest course but some tight tricky holes.

Will definitely go back.

Tidy course let down by tee times. Course was packed, big groups waiting to tee off. Groups trying to jump in ahead of time slot with people teeing off as soon as group ahead had hit second shot. Pace of play was a case of everyone was at a standstill till group ahead had hit their shot. 4 seperate groups on a par 5 at one point, even two 5balls were seen. Would definately play the course again but not at a weekend, nearly a 5 hour round for a 2 ball. Luckily the weather was nice and the greens in very good condition.
