GREAT IMPROVEMENTS
Have played here many times. The course is undergoing improvements but those already completed has fine tuned an already good venue. The addition of the revetted bunkers provides an intersting experience - especially when you arrive in one!
The course is very well maintained. Pro shop staff friendly and inviting as has always been the case and the golfers you meet on the course both members and visitors are also pleasant. The course was challenging due to a stiff 20 mile an hour wind but thoroughly enjoyed my round and managed to get under 100 for the first time!
Great day
Back again after 2 years away. And the course is as good as it was before. Greens in good condition, and course played tough with the wind, but even with a first time player we all had a good round. Staff friendly as ever.
Be back soon.
Lovely round
We arrived at about 2.50. Checked in at the pro shop. They guy there was very welcoming. We went to what we thought was the first tee but was the third!!! Then played the first-second and third. We knew we would be ok as we could just follow the group in front. But..... as we teed off down the 4th two guys told us it was the 18th!! The signage was poor. We almost made an error around the 10th as well. Having said that a great experience. Perfect for occasional players like us. The juxtaposition of a kind of parkland set up next to the sea is great. The greens were nice and fast. For us the open nature of most of the course is great as we were not too worried about tee shots!! I also love the different holes. Some nice semi blind approaches, some lovely greens to try and hit. The weather was perfect. Sunny and about 22 degrees!!!!
Nice course, no rough to speak of at the moment. I have played here before so had an idea of the layout. Finished one over par on a windy day. I will go back for a change of scenery.
A perfect Saturday morning
I think my Teeoftimes booking on a Saturday morning came as a bit of a surprise to the Secretary and Pro but they both could not have been more accommodating. I had obviously booked in the middle of the Saturday roll-up but including me in the roll-up was no problem and the members I played with could not have been more delightful and welcoming. I am sure that if the wind is blowing, this cliff-top course is quite a challenge. On a balmy Saturday morning it was a most enjoyable experience. Within the par 64, there are no par 5s but there is plenty of challenge with some deep rough, tight out-of-bounds and well-placed bunkers. I can think of few better ways to spend 3 1/2 hours if you are in the area.
Pleasant Course
Enjoyable round. Good course for me now. One of the few i can walk round.
Would recommend. Definitely going again.
VFM
Great course, great views, value for money, excellent pro shop staff, friendly, and nice 19th hole, plus lovely half way house
Nice Course
Nice course layed out over three sepeare parks / fields.
The 1st hole (when you eventually work out where it is) takes you up to a road where you cross and walk a couple of miniutes down to the next field.
This is where the majority of the holes are eventually taking you down to sea views on top of a cliff.
No par 5's on the yellow a lot of straight holes with very few trees but quite a few sand traps.
Quite a few par 3's only one short the rest fairly long.
Greens were good bar three which where water logged but.
Overall i enjoyed it, wasnt busy at all in fact wasnt another group within four holes of us the whole way round. Went off at half 12 on a sunday so to be on our own was a pleasent change.
Friendly staff in clubhouse and food was good.
