Good value for price
Took father in law who isn't the quickest player these days so good to see staff happy to let us go off a little earlier than planned as it was quiet as we were paired with another two ball as a result of buying on GN. Took a tee at 1530ish and was busy but not clogged. Nice and flat and the fairways are nice and open in places so possible to hit a good score.
Excellent course in very good condition
Situtuated on Dunstable Downs, near Whispnade Zoo (where you can see some of the animals!) - this is a remarkably flat course in excellent condition despite the dry weather.
Decent wide layout with plenty of long par 4s with left/ right woodland dog legs to challenge above average golfers - misplaced drives generally could be found whether under tree canopies or alternate fairways!
Greens were excellent to putt on however with the dry conditions played like a links with early shots into the green not holding and running through - so change of tactic to run into the green for remainder of round.
The course is especially quiet on a Mondays due to the kitchen being closed - however the staff we met were very friendly and the facilities very welcoming.
Recommended and will definitely like to book again.
Could do with some new features same old lots of fairways look similar so you don’t really know what hole your on you think you have played them before.
Vet flat and holds water very damp after previous days rain plsying v long
Unfriendly welcome
Been here a few times before and always enjoyed it, unfortunately it was soured this visit by a very unwelcoming man in the pro shop.
We barely had one foot through the door and he moaned at me for having trainers on (we were just signing in and making sure there were no issues with the booking before unpacking all of our kit out of the car) and then bizarely demanded one of our group tuck his jumper into his trousers ??!!
We got the distinct impression we were being looked down on just for being a 'golf now group'.
We enjoyed our round regardless despite the course not being in great condition, we also enjoyed a beer afterwards at a local pub, after remembering the attitude in the pro shop earlier, we assumed we weren't welcome in the clubhouse as "non members" and spent our money elsewhere.
Sadly I think this will be out last trip here.
Nice course
In very good condition...Greens excellent. Fairways pretty good as so dry....Great value for £25
Great course in fantastic condition
I try and play hear at least once a year. The layout, with mature oak lined fairways and quality greens is a great test and fun. Given the current UK dry spell, greens were in fantastic condition, smooth and true. Bunkers in great nick well maintained.
Excellent Course
for £25 on a Monday excellent value. Couse in very good conditions...,Perfect greens . Played a few times over the years and always a nice course
Great course condition
First time on the course and will be back. Course in great condition from perfect greens to well layered fairways into the ruff. Plenty to challenge you if you strayed off the tee so all in all will be back
great little gem
hidden away in the Chiltern Hills, a lovely tree-lined course with perfect cut fairways and good size greens.
Whipsnade
Overall the course and greens are beautiful for this time of year. Rude pro shop worker spoiled the experience. Range was "under maintenance" although there was about 200 balls on it and questioning golf clothes just an overall Larry really. No nets either so no warm up.
Long course, great value
I've played Whipsnade Park a few times but usually in the summer. This time, it had been subjected to heavy rain but was still playable. It's long but fair. The greens were reasonable. It was very quiet so no delays and for £20 great value. Nice practice range, chipping area and putting green too.
