Wokefield Park Golf Club

Good course. Varied holes through an interesting layout. Bunkers need attention particularly raking.

We got away at 0730 and had the course to ourselves. The course was in perfect condition and the only people we came across were the green keepers but they allowed us to continue with our round without any hassle.

We stopped at the half way house and had a great welcome and food that was outstanding. We did comeback after the 18th and haves couple of ales to celebrate our round.

The greens were true and allowed us to put with confidence and the only issue was our ability to sink more puts.

Playing the course early in the morning was a real treat and how the course was set up allowed us to enjoy the whole round.

If you get the chance to play the course then make sure you do it,

I found it challenging with loads of bunkers and lakes. Should have a map on the score card showing where the holes are, also when I got to hole 2 didn't have a clue where the flag was, information about the dogs leg should be there. One of the holes had a couple of bunkers in the middle of the fairway which were not visible from the tee off point, i believe the player should be aware of it. The half a mile you have to walk from holes 9 and 10 is quiet annoying.

good points this club has a lot going for it . putting green and driving range near first tee . its a tough course particularly if you play off the back tees. bad points pro shop difficult to find ( its at the back of the hotel down a flight of stairs in a small cramped space quite a long way from the car park) .The bunkers need a bit of work as there is a lot of loose sand in the green side traps and some of the fairway bunkers have grass growing through the sand otherwise it is excellent value for money

Third time playing here - chose due to the great rate on Teeoftimes. Course was in good condition, there is good practice facilities to warm up, and other players let us play through so there was no hold ups. Long course with some challenges.....but I really like it.

OK there had been some overnight rain, but not a huge amount, and the previous few weeks had been very dry. So I was surprised to find that most fairways were completely waterlogged. At point point when taking a shot in the middle of the 11th, I looked down and my shoes were almost completely submerged.

To make it worse I was stuck behind a slow group of 4. I gave up after 13 holes.
