Wet!!
The conditions on the course at Woodbury Park in early February were disappointing. Muddy bogs in spots in the middle of fairways, good tee shots ending up plugged, walkways between holes impassible, tee boxes squelching underfoot - I expected this particular course to be better despite the challenges of the winter weather.
That said, the greens were great, course well laid out and the staff in the pro shop very friendly. I enjoyed my round but would stick to the summer months if I play again.
Wouldn’t have wanted to have paid more than I did.
Played at Woodbury a few times and it’s a good challenge. For £25 I really shouldn’t complain but the greens were incredibly slow as they must have recently been sanded, which was a shame.
Was surprised to see a lot of muddy fairways considering it’s been so dry recently but for this time of year it was more than acceptable.
Guy in the pro shop wasn’t particularly welcoming but the guy in the halfway house was a very nice chap.
Excellent course, club house and Excellent staff
Very friendly and helpful Pro shop staff. So were the clubhouse staff. The course layout was challenging but very playable I'm a high handicapper but enjoyed it thoroughly.
Woodbury park oaks

Woodbury park golf club
Greens in good condition.course quite wet of the fairway.and front of some of the greens, bunker to of 17th shouldn't been in play..pace of play ok.still managed to get round. In four hours
Great value late round
We had a great, late in the day tee time, so finished in the dark but that was fine.
The course was quite wet and anyone with a trolley had to stick to the paths which meant a lot more walking for them and a slower round.
We carried but had to wait for the groups in front who had trollies. It was quite a long walk with a bag full of clubs.
The course despite being wet was in fairly good nick. We felt there could have been more signage and yardage markers .
All in all though it was a very enjoyable round.
Woodbury Keep to the Paths
The whole experience was spoilt by the "emergency" [[!] rule requiring trolleys to keep to the paths. Yes, trolleys. This meant we effectively walked miles more than a normal round of golf. This rule was in force to limit damage to the "wet" course. Unfortunately there was no advance notice so it was too late to change to a lightweight carry bag.
Shame, because the course was otherwise enjoyable and I would recommend to others and play again
As good as ever
If you’re looking to play a great course with lovely views give it a go. The greens are big and inviting. A well struck shot will stop, yet, putts roll beautifully. Fairways are wide and grassy. Tees are placed imaginatively. Players of any standard are given a chance but, the course does tend to favour longer hitters. After your round enjoy a drink overlooking the lovely 18th.
Top class!
Great course, lovely setting, good price & perfect consitions!
Lovely course
One of my favourite courses but better in the dryer (usually) spring/summer season as the drainage is poor and is quite soggy after a lot of rain. A long course with lots of challenges; water, trees, hills, ditches, bunkers, etc. they're all there.
Well worth playing if you get chance and especially if the price is right.
