Honiton Golf Club

With the current exception of the 2nd hole (temporary green) the course is a great challenge and you need to plot/manage your way around it. Good shots always rewarded. Value for money.

The sun was out, it was a beautiful day. It would have been hard spoil. Course was lovely, great condition greens nice too. 2nd hole under construction, but didn't really effect the experience.

Will play here again.

Unfortunately our round was to degree spoiled by the attitude of the 4 ball in front. An elderly bunch who possibly were new to golf given their standard of golf. No problem with that of course but it was the lack of course management. That is practice shots after the hole was finished, leaving the golf bag on the far side of the green from the exit ,noting scores while still on the green ,painfully slow pace of walking etc etc all while the course was stacking up behind. When it was politely pointed out that they were the cause of the hold up the response was they wouldn’t let anyone through as they would then have to let loads of groups through. The two ball behind us gave up and went in early.

Very odd bar set up. If you want a coffee and a beer you have to go to two different people as the coffe is a franchise and the bar is in house. Now that’s quirky 😂

The course is a tad under 6000 yds off the plates but has some very interesting holes and tough oar 3sin good condition

From first arrival I was greeted by happy members of the course and club pro was also very friendly and directed me to all the facilities the club had to offer.

The club had two practice nets which helped loosen me up, a chipping area to a very fast practice green in tremendous condition. I asked a member if all the greens are like this, to which he replied “oh yes” with a laugh.

Course conditions were very good, tees were good and the fairways were in lovely condition but the greens, was. The ball run true on all of them and some were very tricky! From Two tier and undulating, mix this with lightening quick proved a very tough but enjoyable afternoon.

I also joined two members just before the 7th hole and they were very good company and offered tips and hints as to where the greens were as some are blind from the tee.

All in all a very enjoyable day and if I was local to the area I would certainly visit again! 9.5/10

Had a great round, great tight layout, course is tip top condition, friendly staff and members, would definitely play again and recommend!

Really enjoyed this course, it’s in great condition and has some stunning views. Would definitely play again and recommend.

Unfortunately the pace of play was terrible but that was probably because of a seniors match. Met some very friendly people the course has some tricky and different holes and some amazing views. Thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon even though I did not finish all 18 because of the pace of play. Thank you Honiton.

Honiton golf course was in superb condition

Although we played at a busy time we still enjoyed our time here , we will definitely be playing here again soon 🏌️🏌️🏌️
