Esplanade Golf and Country Club of Naples

I'm from Chicago and belong to a private club up here. Played Esplanade 4/26 and 4/27. Greens are immaculate, although could be a little faster but roll smooth. Bunkers aren't the best and were inconsistent, but just don't hit the ball there right?! Played there twice because I felt I lost some shots because was unaware of certain ridges on greens or how far the water came into play on certain holes. I played for $79 which I believe is fair, but played with a guy who said he paid $109 a week prior. The fairways are pretty open and unless you really hit a bad tee shot you most likely will have a shot in. A lot of construction going on around the course and back 9 is pretty much empty.

I am a 11 handicap and enjoyed each round. Highly suggest playing as early as possible because course fills up and anything past 9am could be a death march. Great value at anything under $80 in my opinion.

Really hard to miss the fairways, but the course really demands that you make a good 2nd shot. The greens are tough. It's new, but it is a fun layout and they can really trick out pin placements. Fun time , despite some huge distances to travel between holes, especially on the backside.

This course is just challenging enough for intermediate and advanced golfers. Fairways, greens and roughs were is very good condition. Proshop staff could have been friendlier and course range was annoying telling us to hurry when no one was following us. We will play the course again next year on our trip.

Construction abounds, but course was well maintained. Wide fairways make the course very playable for all skill levels.

Great course and layout. I'm from Michigan and invited my friend from Arizona to play Esplanade. The course is straight forward with no gimmicky holes. Nice landing areas for the driving the parr 4&5. Great layout and in wonderful condition from tee to green. Staff and Rangers were very friendly and helpful. Pace of play was a bit slow but it was due to one group a few holes ahead of us. Ranger kept us posted and apologized. It was no big deal to us as we enjoyed watching the American Bald Eagles flying above. New club house and pro shop were under construction and it looks like it will be fantastic addition. Highly recommend playing Esplanade if you are in the Naples area. My buddy rates a golf course based on if he buys a hat or not. He purchased two!

Really enjoyable round. Glad we played here and will return. More amenities than most public courses. Previous reviews are all accurate. Golf course is in great condition and construction surrounds much of the back nine but doesnt affect play unless you get hooked on watching the massive machinery at work. Front nine is easier to play than the back. There is water on the course but it doesn't come into play too much. Several tee options, even for women. Pace of play a bit slow and snack cart takes a very long time to make it around. Suggest purchasing what you may want the first chance you get. You may not see her again. Interesting for us, was the practice range- Island greens in a large lake.

The greens were in outstanding condition and the layout of the course was very interesting. It is spread out a lot and not that friendly for walkers. Over all; we liked it a lot and sure would like to go back again sometime.

Outstanding course-challenging but not punitive. Greens are tough to read, but roll true. All staff are exceptionally pleasant, from club house to cart staff

Very good condition. Fairways and greens. Pretty slow greens; should remedy that. On the edge of too much undulating greens. Nice staff. Good information on where things were. High price $130. But it is in season and it's Naples. Hence, slow play. Like other reviews... play now before it goes private due to homes being built. Will play again. Glad I played it. Will have a small pro shop and snack bar for a while,[both nice] since it's in a small permanent building during sub-division home building.

The course was well maintained and pace of play was maintained by a group of attentive rangers. The course played true to its billing - easy to put the ball in play, but undulating greens and bunker defenses around them give the course some teeth. The place is still in development, so if your looking for a plush clubhouse to help make your day there better, you will have to wait a few moths for the building to be ready (it looks like it will be nice). We only saw the refreshment cart once on our round and that was between holes 9 and 10. It would be therefore prudent to load up on drinks and food when you check in!!

My buddies and I have played Esplanade several times. The course is in excellent condition, the layout is fair. Because of the ongoing construction of new homes in this community, you drive through some construction areas between holes but it's no problem. Lots of nature, surrounded by preserve. Generous fairways, greens will test you. An excellent value. Handy North Naples location, just 3 miles east of I-75 off Exit 111 (Immokalee Rd). Would definitely recommend. Enjoy the public play while you can. This is a private community that will close its doors to the public once it's built out in a few years.

Everyone in our party enjoyed playing Esplanade. A bit pricey, but the experience was worth it! Can't wait until they finish construction surrounding the course. The playing conditions were extremely windy, throwing off the game so we will be back next year to give it another try.

The course is fun. The greens on the back nine are crazy depending on pin location. Plan on a 4 1/2 hour round

Great track. Very friendly staff. Course if fair but challenging. I haven't found a better golfing experience for the money.

I have been waiting to play this course for awhile. Well I've played it and it will be quite awhile before I play it again. What was I thinking paying $120.00 a person for 18 long holes. Five hour round!!!! The beverage cart stopped on a par 3 just when the group in front of us tee off. Before you can say fore there were 3 foursomes on the hole. It took 25 minutes for us to play the hole. No ranger to move the groups along. I know the course is fairly new but drop you prices.

I am a full time Naples resident so I get to play several of the courses in town and this place is easily in my top 3. Community is still under construction but the golf course is in excellent shape.

Nice layout, slow greens. Not well marked. 150 yard markers but no 100 or 200. Have to hunt for yardage. Don't play if it's cart path only. Nice course but overpriced. Poor clubhouse.

But the overall things are not as good as the course because of heavy house buildings.
Next year they will get 5 stars :-))
