Course was pretty wet and showing signs of suffering from the wet summer.
Great little course
Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Exminster golf centre. Very nice set up and facilities with a superb driving range and clubhouse.
The course was quite quirky with some very pretty holes. Various elevations from tee to greens to make you think what club to play. Very well maintained. I would’ve given 5 stars for course conditions but on the day we visited the green staff had hollow tined the greens and were applying large amounts of sand which we still had to play on!! Perhaps that’s why we only paid £17 each for 18 holes. It is a 9 hole course but you can play it twice and they do have different tees for the ‘back’ 9. I would play there again.
Wonderful Views
Shame it’s only nine holes but some holes have two tees. The only negative is the refreshments availability in the clubhouse. Great course in great condition.
No issues, little bit soggy in patches but considering the recent, weather pretty impressed. Green on hole 5 didn't play very well due to debris and sand but all others were nice
Friendly
Very friendly 9 hole course, with 18 different tees. Very good test of golf for all levels. Greens quite fast for time of year.
Good pro shop, friendly staff.
Very good clubhouse, excellent bar and food.
9 holes for practice
Muddy and wet although to be fair it's winter conditions with temporary greens.
Good
Was very wet which was absolutely fine. My only negative was no one told us that all the greens were Temporary.
Temporary greens
Value for money was good only because of 'hot deal', not worth normal price with 7 of 9 temporary greens when the greens were driest part of the course..
Undergoing Green Maintenance
Why take a booking when all the greens were undergoing maintenance? The temporary greens were just random holes dug into uneven fairways- some of them 100 yds from the green. This was a birthday treat for me from my son who had flown from NZ to surprise me for my birthday. We gave up after the 3rd as there was absolutely no enjoyment from trying to play an unknown course and with no distance references or greens to putt on.
The course offered a credit to return again but the moment was ruined and their reputation gone with it.
Shame on the club for accepting a booking knowing that the course wasn’t really playable.
Slow
Decent 9 hole course but the pace of play was mind numbingly slow. 2 and half hours for nine holes. I gave up after the twelfth
