Golf as it should be
This course has all you could want I'm 71 have lost a lot of distance but still enjoy a challenge on the longer par-4s I moved up on the short par-4s I hit from the Blues found it to be very challenging and yet not impossible to score well and the course condition was premium
I am not a high-income retiree so when I saw the $45 hot deal I jumped on it well worth the price just wish I could get more golf in for that much or less
Plantation Lakes great conditions
Plantation Lakes is by far the best conditioned course in the area. All areas of the course were great especially the greens. They are firm, fast and true all you need to roll the ball like tour pros. Many thanks to the friendly staff who were there for all of are needs. A real beautiful course to add to your must play list.
Awesome!
I had a great round at Plantation. I loved the course. I was forty to be paired with a member and we were the first group out. We finished 18 holes in about 3 hrs. Amazing conditions and a fun, fair layout. I’ll definitely be back!
Add This to the List
Final round of three in four days brought us to this really fun inland track. Facility is top notch and practice area among the best you’ll find. Staff very friendly. Course is challenging and fair except for a couple of green complexes. The 12th green is ridiculously tricked up and should be redone. Other than that it’s a great addition to the area courses now that the back 9 is open. Absolutely worth checking out.
Great looking course
My first time playing the course and I was impressed. I liked the layout and enjoyed the challenge. All I can say is you better hit them straight and be able to hit your spots. The back nine is new and needs some more seasoning. The greens on the back are extremely difficult and in some cases almost unplayable. The undulations and firmness make these hard to hold. However with that said I did enjoy the challenge and will play it again.
Great course, TERRIBLE pace of play
I have played the original 9 hole layout at Plantation Lakes many times, and consistently found it challenging, fun and in great shape. My visit today was to play the newly opened 9 holes. I found those holes very good as well, and a nice compliment to the original 9 holes. However, the round was spoiled by a pace of play that was TERRIBLE. Our 3-some was waiting almost every hole for two consecutive 2-somes, who obviously had no clue and little skill, yet one golfer in each group took it upon himself to "tutor" the other golfer. Frustratingly, there was NO marshall/ranger on the course until the 15th hole, and that was only to take any trash we had in our carts, as it was getting late in the day. This is NOT the 1st time that pace of play, with no sign of a marshall/ranger anywhere, has been a problem at Plantation Lakes. This needs to be cleaned up, and soon, before Plantation Lakes gets the reputaion for slow play. This is a real killer in a resort area, where people don't want to spend 5+ hours on a golf course.
Beautiful, pristine, challenging
Plantation Lakes is nothing short of spectacular. It's a fantastic course and it was in tour quality condition. The greens were not incredibly quick but had plenty of undulation, especially the newly constructed back 9. The fairways were plush and the rough is also well maintained. It is quite challenging as water is in play on numerous holes and there are bountiful sand traps. One of the best course layouts I had the joy to experience. Highly recommend this course as the value for the price is unmatched for the area.
Nice track
Course was in excellent shape and played in under 4 hours. Very playable for all levels of skill, many homes have water in play. The back 9 which just opened not quite as good as the front yet, needs more time to mature. Have played most Ocean City courses and will definitely play again, it's good value.
Beautiful Course
This course was in immaculate condition. The crew should be proud. The staff was very courteous. The course
layout was challenging but playable for the average golfer.
Lots of water and sand
Nice course. Challenging. Great fairways and greens.
Above Average
Our foursome all agreed that the course layout was good..
Fairways were good but greens were variable regarding speed and weren't holding balls on approach shots.
A few holes on the back nine need additional directional signs since we had some trouble locating the next hole.
Also, since this was our first time playing Plantation we had ome difficulty locating the greens.
Staff was informed and friendly.
Overall, an above average course.
Perfect Day
Started out rainy, but pace of play on the course was quick as storms scared people away. Course was in good
Condition for late July, greens were still quick and challenging even though it was wet. Fun course!
Will be 1 of my favorites
2nd time playing the front 9, 1st time playing the newly opened back 9. Course is AMAZING !! The new back 9 is wild. Very open... but green complexes are unlike many I’ve seen. The surrounding grounds of theback 9 are not finished yet, so it doesnt look quite finished yet , but when it is completed I’m sure it will look as beautiful as the front 9. Truly looks like a resort style course . So perfectly manicured . Not overwhelmingly long but soooo challenging. Absolutely love this course, and whenever I am in Rehoboth area., it is always my 1st choice . High end golf course for mid range pricing , you can’t beat it
My FAVORITE Course!!!
I am fairly new to the game. I have fooled around on and off playing golf since I was about 8 years old (23 Y.O. currently). I just recently started to take the game seriously and try to play every Sunday possible. I have played many different courses including Clifton Park (Baltimore, MD), Greystone (Whitehall, MD), Geneva Farms (Street, MD), Bulle Rock (Havre de Grace, MD), Furnace Bay (Perryville, MD), Pine Ridge (Lutherville-Timonium, MD), Mount Pleasant (Baltimore, MD), and many others. Up until I had the opportunity to play Plantation Lakes (Millsboro, DE), my favorite golf course has been the esteemed Bulle Rock in Havre De Grace, MD. I was absolutely blown away by how beautiful the Plantation Lakes course was. I enjoyed every second of my time there, from the moment I pulled into the parking lot until I left. The staff was extremely friendly and personable. The course conditions were absolutely immaculate! The golf carts were clean and very well maintained and comfortable to ride in. I was pleased to find out that the driving range and practice area was free to utilize prior to your round! The only aspect that I was disappointed in, and the one and only reason I’m giving them four stars instead of five, is because I found it a little bit ridiculous that I had to pay an extra $18 to have my friend tag along in my golf cart (who was not playing at all). He was simply tagging along because he is starting to have a growing interest in the sport. He simply wanted to watch me play and try to pick up some tips along the way. He rode on the passenger side of the cart and pretty much served as my “caddy” I guess you could say. I don’t believe that it is fair to have to pay extra to have somebody tag along in the cart who isn’t playing at all! Other than that one hiccup, I definitely found this course to be my favorite by a long shot. I would absolutely recommend this course to friends and family, and it is definitely a MUST PLAY course if you are ever in the area!
Great layout, interesting course
Wonderful course, back nine still needs to mature, but course in good shape. A few blind holes seems unfair to first time players, but otherwise interesting and challenging. Pace of play was fine, unfortunately was pair up with the slowest players I've ever been with. Let two groups go by as the course was empty in front of us.
Definitely will play again.
