Best public course
This course has been given alot of attention to the conditions of the course. Fast yet true rolling greens lots some of the longest par 3s in the county. Being able to get a cart for 18 holes for under 30 dollars is a score definitely worth a play.
Not a great Saturday
We had an 11:20 tee time. The group 2 in front of us was a 4-some of guys that had NEVER played before. Two groups in front of them was a group of 6. Never seen that on a Saturday. Waited for every shot. If the course was in great shape it would have been worth waiting. That was not the case. When we got to 14 we saw there were 4 groups waiting to play 17 so we went up 15 and headed in. Won't go there again.
The greens were in great shape, speed was consistent
Just another municipal course
Nothing special, not a real value for the dollar, the staff was just a staff, greens are not taken care of. Some clown with a stick and a poker at the end of it was hanging out at the side of two different greens that I'm trying to approach. Maybe he was there to clean up the greens but he was still in my way. I'm sure when I can't get a tee time I will go out there again but since I was asked for a review here it is
Friendly Public Course.
Friendly little municipal course in an interesting setting. Greens were solid. Fairways and tees were a little ragged. Holes were challenging.
Fun course with some long par 3s
Played here a few times now and fun course to play. I've always had a hard time judging speed of greens. Parts can be long if playing from blue tees. Course also has soccer/foot golf and Frisbee golf, though I've never seen anyone playing it on the course while I was out.. If you're not paying attention, you can easily be shooting towards the foot golf flag versus the flag on the greens. Fun course and great price. Snackbar in pro shop is slow. Order food at the start of 9 8f you want something at the turn.
Blah blah course
The course was in winter time shape. The fairways are pretty torn up with not a lot of grass. The fairways are torn up with ditot holes, gopher holes and other garbage you could find on them. The carts are in very good condition. it did not specify on Golf now however the greens are still bumpy from being punched and still have plenty of residue sand. (This could have been mentioned on golf now)!
Fairways improving still not the strength of this course.Great greens .even though they were punched will be perfect in a couple of weeks. Great Track Great value.
Didn't inform unavailability of back nine
I booked a tee time yesterday without being informed of the unavailability of back nine. And the staff of the course said that they already posted it before. But it wasn't. I played front nine twice that was not what I paid for.
Kern River 2020
The Front Desk / Pro Shop was on their game; very friendly and accommodating which can be tough during these trialing times. Cart had a squeaky wheel but ran well; love the partial wind blockers. The practice greens were very nice and challenging (two separate practice greens) and the chipping green which near the 9th green but setup kind of on its’ own island separate from range. The course was challenging and fun, although, there were no water hazards which definitely benefits your beginning golfers. Some overly rough areas, and the sands were needing some attention (no rakes; probably part of the problem). The greens were very challenging but a little inconsistent from one green to the next.
There were a few tee-offs that were slightly exposed to strayed golf balls but what course doesn’t, right? The prices were very reasonable; especially Twilight!!!
Overall, I had a great time. The atmosphere was friendly and the scenery was relaxing. I would definitely recommend it not just to a friend but to anyone.
