Tee boxes are a mess -- rest of the course OK
Been a while since I last played Birch and was surprised to find the tee boxes were nothing but dirt and sand with patches of grass growing here and there, for the most part. Rest of the course is fine. Hopefully they're reseeding or redoing the tee boxes as a few of them were also moved forward. I hope this is a short term issue as I really like the course and its value otherwise.
So so!
Comparing green fees, it would be recommendable. But the course conditions were not good.
Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your thoughts on our green fees and are sorry to hear about the course conditions. We're committed to improving and hope to provide a better experience during your next visit. Your input helps us get better!
Good course for short game practice
If you’re looking to work on your short game this is a good course. Only negatives are the chewed ip tee boxes and the beat up greens
Thanks for the feedback! We're glad you enjoyed working on your short game. We're actively addressing the tee boxes and greens to enhance your experience. We appreciate your insights and hope to see you back on the course soon!
plenty of golf in this exec course.
I play here so often that I'm meeting up with players with whom I have shared a round previously.
This round was played in real hotness (101).
I left after 10 holes, but enjoyed the g.c. until the heat got me.
Thanks for sharing your experience, Rafa It's great to hear you enjoy playing here and connecting with fellow golfers. We appreciate your understanding of the heat, and we hope to see you back for another round soon—maybe on a cooler day!
Too much under construction
I've only played Birch a few times, but the couse seemed to have all of the same areas "under construction". Theee are mostly areas where the grass is all dug up or there just isn't grass for whatever reason. Several of the tee boxes were this way, so it was common for all of the tee markers to be close together (blue, white, red). It just seems like the maintenance is sub-par and there's no hurry to get the many closed off areas finished and playable.
Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your observations regarding course conditions and ongoing maintenance. We're actively working to improve these areas and enhance the overall experience for all our guests. Your input is valuable as we strive for excellence. We hope to welcome you back soon!
Marshall was rude
I hit a near ace on the 6th hole … Par 4 @ 268 yards
Only to get lectured for 5 minutes about “speeding up play”
Then get followed throughout the hole ( taking the fun out of my next Eagle putt )
If you’re hitting the green in ONE shot on a Par 4… the Marshall needs to understand the situation better… let the person attempt their Eagle putt in peace! Please!
Dogged by the Marshall
As a golfer who has played courses from San Diego to Sonoma County, I was very disappointed in my experince with Birch Hills. To begin, we were excited to play this course. We noticed that the Marshall wasn't welcoming in explaining the course, but of course no big deal. Then at the 8th hole he harrassed my group. We had nobody behind us and the gentlemen in front were where we could see them, still playing our upcoming hole. Nobody was waiting for us and to that moment we weren't waiting on anyone. My fouresome averaged just under 9 minutes a hole. We were walking, and at a pretty good pace. The Marshall proceeded to stop our group on the 8th hole to tell us there was an open hole in front of us and "...we needed to pick up the pace..." (as mentioned, we could see the group in front of us). He then felt it necessary to tell each of us personally, only slowing us down. He annoyingly waited for each of us to complete our hole, watching each putt. Once reaching the 10th hole, we had hurried only to now wait to watch the group in front of us tee off. At that point, we called it a day (feeling crumby) as it was our intention to only play 12 holes. With so many other options in Southern California we won't go back.
We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear about your experience. Our goal is to provide a welcoming environment for all golfers. We'll address your concerns with our team to ensure that future visits are more enjoyable. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.

Need a warning sign on #13 and #18
I’ve seen multiple balls land on both drivable par 4’s
Players need to wait for the green to clear… just like they would on a par 3… a driver flying onto the green is highly dangerous and reckless if people are still on the green. Any shot could be potentially lethal on 13 and 18 (especially in the summer time when drives travel farther)
Used to be my top 3 favorites in the area
Played here 3 times per week … but the combination of bad experiences with beginners, almost getting hit by golf balls without warning, and the staff reluctant to back me up when an issue occurs … make me want to take my 3 year membership elsewhere. It’s less enjoyable at Birch these days. But hopefully they can bring it back to the good old days!
Great
Very all around great course nice staff very nice and beautiful corse
Thanks for the feedback, Jackson. We’re thrilled you enjoyed the course and our staff. However, we noticed your rating doesn’t reflect your comments. If there’s anything specific we can improve, we’d love to hear your thoughts. Your experience matters to us!
Thank you for your rating, Bruce. We appreciate your support and are glad to know you enjoyed your experience.
The bunker is in very bad condition.
There is mud and water in the bunker,
So the ball gets stuck in the mud and cannot be hit.
The amenities for wiping the ball were not working (there was no water).
Thanks for your feedback! We're sorry to hear about your experience with the bunkers and amenities. We're committed to improving our course conditions and are in the process of addressing this issue to enhance the overall experience for our guests.
Concrete bunkers
Need to add sand to the impossible bunkers … they are more penal than going into a water hazard … some lady behind me complained to the marshal Mike that I was taking mulligans and holding up their group … how is it possible to NEED a mulligan when you hit 16/18 greens? My only bogeys were the 2 shots from the dirt bunkers. Be prepared to wait on the drivable par 4’s… and try to avoid confrontation
Don’t visit on a hot day ! Marshall Mike won’t let you park in the shade
This guy seems to be targeting me every time I’m
At this course… we had a group of friends gather as a 3 some and he only harassed me and no one else … if I’m parked under a tree in the rough … he’ll flip out. So be prepared to sit in the sun when of it’s 100 degrees!
$40 with cart for par 3 course
This is a par 3 course… but costs as much as Westridge, Diamond Bar, and Fullerton. Not sure why they charge the same rate as a full length par 72 course? I used to come here twice a week, but you’ll find better value elsewhere.
Pace of play is also around 4 hours. With most holes only @ 100 yards
Thanks for your feedback! We appreciate your insights and understand your concerns about the tee boxes. We're actively working on improvements to enhance the experience. It's great to hear you enjoy the course, and we hope to have everything up to par soon!
