Overall experience terrific
The overall experience from checking in to golfing to having a drink at the bar was great. The staff was wonderful especially the bar staff! The only issue I had was a groundskeeper decided to water around the green we were putting on and had water running on my line..I moved line and putted. Was an unnecessary distraction. The course is in great condition!
Great deal using golfnow
Course was in good shape. Very wet in areas but better than dry and brown, it was hot. Started on a great pace, then it started to back up, there was a group of 5 playing very slow with nobody in front of them. We jumped in front of them on 10 and finished without a problem. I feel sorry for the other 2 groups behind them.
What a lousy staffs
1. This was our first time played this course.
2. Who was this woman?, very unfriendly and rude.
no wonder our neighbor told me that golf course was good
but staffs was bad. so, they don't go this course anymore.
3. What is your reason for pay for golf?.
start your day or your weekend with bad?. go ahead play
this golf course.
Love the water
Course in excellent shape. Love the water, greens are in good shape as well
nice course layout
Booked through golfnow and arrived with my foursome during the afternoon on a Saturday. It was myy first time here and I was surprised as there weren't many folks on the course. One or two pairs about 3 or 4 holes up and that was pretty much it. Towards the back nine, there was a threesome a few holes behind us and didn't seem like many more behind them. The local munis would usually be busier/flooded around this time slot. Based on this, for pace of play, I would play here if you're a fairly fast player or group.
As for the course itself, I think it does have a nice layout/design. There are well placed hazards (water, bunkers) and trees to make you think about how to manage the course and tee shots. A few dog leg holes that definitely made me rethink whether to use a driver or 3-wood. Green-side bunkers are nicely placed to encourage accuracy although I would probably prefer more fairway bunkers but I think I'm just a bit crazy. It was also windy on the course so I did like that challenge.
Overall, the course is very nice and well maintained. Two annoyances I had were: we were playing a hole, a maintenance-man decided to turn on the sprinklers before the green area and also proceeded to water the greens soon after everyone teed off. Another was a cranky neighbor on the 3rd or 4th hole getting, for lack of a better term, butt-hurt because one of the other players hooked a shot off the tee and almost went into her back yard. We went to apologize but we just caught some bickering. Players beware of the cranky housewife.
I would definitely recommend this course. It's a good course to play and switch up from all the courses here in the city. The drive isn't that far from Fresno and for me, being the first time playing here, I would definitely come back. 4 tee boxes to choose from so I would say tee off accordingly to your skill level and it'll be a fine and dandy course.
I'll be back
A fun and challenging course for multiple skill levels. Very friendly staff. Walkers have a few treks between tee boxes but nothing extraordinary. Driving range and practice green conveniently located. Last hole is a generous par 5 with an island green. Putters Grill a nice place to end the round.
course good management bad
Course is challenging and kept up. But had our tee time booked in advance from golfnow with carts but when we arrived on time there were no carts available when we finally got our carts we ended up getting stuck behind a group of 5 that had 3 carts and took forever. Didn't start the first hole until a hour after the time we had reserved.
Several water hazards
Well kept course, play was kept at a reasonable pace.
Fun 4th of July round
Fun day at Pheasant Run with some family. Hot day. Course was in good shape, greens were really good.
Best public course around
I love playing at Pheasant Run, the fairways are very nice, and the greens are in perfect condition. Staff is friendly.
Golf
Driving range was dead, course was great, course has a lot of water.......
well maintained
The course was beautiful. First time there. The weathwer was perfect that day; central valley in very hot in the summer! Booked through GolfNow for great prices!!
Look forward to the next visit! As long as the temperatures are mild!
resort style course in Central Valley
Pheasant Run has generally wide fairways, so if you are hitting relatively straight you shouldn't have many problems. Water can come into play on several holes if you stray from the fairway. The 18th hole is a relatively short par 4/5 depending on what tees you are playing with a fun island green to hit to as you finish your round. Their are 4 sets of tees which gives you options. It kind of has the feel of some of the resort like courses you might see in Palm Springs area. Pace of play was excellent for a morning weekday round.
Course plays long with the valley wind
This is my second time playing this course. If I play there again I intend to play a combo of tees as the layout is to long for a 70 year old senior from the white tees at 6350. There are two many over 410 up to 440 yard long par 4 holes. Its a very nice course but difficult with the wind that is common in the valley.
This really makes you play to your strengths.
Very nice course, but the pro shop attendant wasn't very friendly at all.
very slow play
they did not tell us they spiked and sanded greens two days before i booked hot deal. ''shady''
Great Day at the Course
We had a great day on a challenging course. Despite the wind and the high scores, our group enjoyed every momen of play.
Great place to play right now
The place looks great . Greens fast and true . Fun holes and always go for it on 18. Fairways are green they have nice putting greens that are the same speed as what you will see in the course . Hit them straight
Best course in the Valley!!!!
I have played this course before. The greenest course in the Valley (including country clubs). Really nice to hit off green rough and not dormant hardpan this time of year (Winter). Greens are excellent! perfect speed. Really enjoy the water holes on back nine!! If you don't lose a ball in the water you are pretty good. All and all......best bang for the buck...hands down!!!!
This course has very nice greens and fairways
I would like to recommend everyone to come out and play at Pheasant Run. The course condition and greens were outstanding.
