Nothing flashy
Course is within a 55+ community. Houses border the course but most are not right on top of it. Pace of play was agonizingly slow at first as there were plenty of walkers ahead of my group, however someone did come out at the turn and spoke to the major offenders and got the course flowing again.
The course is pretty flat and fairly unremarkable, but playable. While not manicured to look pretty, the fairways had enough grass to give you a good lie. The greens looked like they had recently been sanded, some more that others.
Course improved
I have played this course many times over the years. Mainly for the cost as it was always in just a fair condition status. Now the new owners have put some work into and and it shows. The greens right now are in excellent condition the fairways are green and in great condition. There are areas that could use some attention but overall great course right now. Good layout long course but mainly flat out ide open fairways. I'm not so sure I like the new pricing but now that I have seen and played the course in this condition, it can be worth it. Also the course handles the rain or after effects of the rain really well.
Better, but still room for improvement
This course has improved steadily over the last few months. Greens are fast, and in great shape. Fairways are getting better. Tee boxes improved. On course bathrooms are disgusting and need to be overhauled. Bunkers have no sand in them, just hardpan, or mud. Most were completely full of water yet last rain was 2 days prior.
Looking forward to completion of course overhaul.
Got there and the parking lot was kind of empty. SCORE!!
We got out and prepared to play the round. A group was putting around as we walked up to the clubhouse. What a wonderful Christmas. It was a beautiful day,. The first day in almost a week that there was no rain. Perfect day for a round of golf. We got to the clubhouse to pay and they were CLOSED. 30 Mile Drive and they were CLOSED.
Typical resort course
Generous fairways and the greens were in good condition. Played under 4 hours. Very friendly staff and facilities. Good value golf.
Wide Fairways!
Unlike most So Cal courses, this one is fairly flat and has wide fairways, much like Midwest courses. Water is present on only a few holes and bunkers are not plentiful, making this a good course for beginners, novices, and seniors.
Bunker conditions are closer to waste bunkers than sand, which is not especially unique.
Grip and rip course
Played this course for the second time was very relaxing to just grip and rip it nice course to keep your golf swing from getting rusty it is mostly a flat trek with not many hazards to be concerned about if you are into walking your round of golf this would be a good course to do just that had fun both times i have played here will very likely be back soon oh don't think i mentioned the rough is just that keep it in the fairway and you will score very well here !!!
Great value
Second time playing here. The first time I played the course was being aerated so I had to play the back nine twice. The course conditions were great but the pace of play was a little slow. The course is pretty simple but overall a great value for a round of golf. I would highly recommend this course.
This course has good tree placements
Fairly tricky hole placements on a handful of holes. Fun drives shots slightly around or over trees. Grass was great traps were okay.
Great value
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Fairways were wide, well watered and in good condition with a mix of crabgrass and Bermuda. The greens were average with some under repair areas. It's a nice track for the average golfer . The new owners will turn it in to a great 18 hole venue over the next few months.
Great staff great course and great value
Awesome staff. So friendly and nice. We really enjoyed the course and met some really nice players. Overall a great experience. We will be back!
The course layout is good
The course have lots of trees and greens. Good driving range. Not too crowded. Fairways is reasonably green nice layouts. Friendly staff.
Fun course for high handicappers
Played a round over labor day weekend. Course is flat and straight forward. In good shape considering the drought. Fairways and greens in good shape. Forgiving layout easy to pick up birds.
A Pleasure to play
Greens were well kept, fairways nice and cut. Nice wide fairways and pretty flat, so it wasn't the hardest course to play, but very enjoyable.
For the price, could not beat it. Of course I used the Hot Deals and it was only $13. Weather was very nice and not too hot. A little windy, but not that much to effect play. Lost my sunglasses was the only bad thing, but that's my fault.
A must play!
For the price this is a must play. I will be playing this course again soon.
Good course for a beginner or good to walk.
Good course to walk need to fix tee boxes good senior course went during week so course needed to be mowed will go back again.
Good Layout, Great Price, Rough Around the Edges
First, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I booked my time with www.golfnow.com, and received over 50% off. I love cheap golf!!
Upon arrival, the staff were helpful and friendly. They were terrific.
The course meanders through a retirement community, and rarely doubles back on itself. All of the trees are mature. It was 100 degrees today, but there was a lot of shade.
The fairways were the best feature. They were green and reasonably short. Of the several fairways I hit, I always had a good lie.
The fairways were rather wide. Mis-hits were not penalized terribly unless I truly hit it the wrong way.
I never hit a bunker, but many of them were wet, and even puddled. Not sure why, but that is never good.
The greens were sloooooow!! This was helpful with chipping. I could land my chips pretty close to the hole and the ball did not roll very far. I scrambled for several pars (yes!!). The greens were easy to read: no surprise left to right or vice-versa. I think the Seven Hills web-site mentions that the greens are small. This is true. The designer must love the Postage Stamp over at Troon. This might have been the most challenging part of the course.
I highly recommend this course if you're 15+ handicapper (or higher) and live within 20 miles. It was very affordable. I teed off at 11:00 and I was in my car at 2:30 (would've been much quicker, but I lost 1-2 balls in the rough). I never had to wait for the group in front of me to hit because there was no other group.
I live within 15 miles of Seven Hills, and I will play here frequently.
