value
Course is not in the best condition but where else can you get a 18 hole round for the same price as a bucket of balls for the driving range.
seven hills
My home town course been golfing here simce i was a teenager still love it its my cheers where everyone knows your name
Spectacular Weather
A gorgeous day to be out playing golf anywhere in Southern California. The pace of play was surprisingly excellent. The course is not overly challenging and not fastidiously maintained. Overall you can't have more fun for under twenty bucks on a weekend.
fun course
For the price the course in decent condition. The pace of play was good for a Saturday morning.
Turkey hangover,busy...
Only play this course about once a year. The fairways
are wide but not the greatest condition. The only defense on the course are the small greens. Which were spotty and slow...Great beginner's course.
It's an easy course no hazards except the bunkers and the greens are small
The greens needed more closer supervision. There are a lot of patches which shows that they have not been regularly checked for proper corrective maintence to avoid severe damages in the greens.
More visible markers for the yardage will be much appreciated.
Inexpensive Golf - For a Good Reason
To be fair, this was a relatively cheap round of golf ($20 on a weekday afternoon). But there is a reason the golf is cheap. The course has a few condition issues. Greens with big patches of dirt and/or areas of repair. Overall very bumpy greens. Many areas of thin grass in the fairways. Anyone giving this course better than 3 stars for "course condition" obviously hasn't played many nice golf courses. But, if you want an inexpensive round of no frills basic golf, this is the course for you. I am being generous with my 3 star rating.
Nice course
Very nice course not too long from the blues good challenged fairly open fairways
Uneven
Too much water sloppy fairways and uneven patchy greens with many dry spots. Mostly for retirees learning to play or just enjoy playing slow for very cheep fees. Great club and bar people though.
LOWER BLADE ON MOWERS
I was 10 minutes before my tee time, I asked who I was playing with ASST. MGR SAID I WAS LATE .SHE POINTED AT HER CLOCK AND SAID I WAS LATE. I CHECKED MY WATCH , AND THEN LOOKED AT HER AND SAID ITS NOT 11:22 YET. SHE SAID OH YEAH MY CLOCK IS 9 MINUTES FAST. (IT WAS 15:00 FAST). I PAIRED UP WITH 2 GENTLEMEN THAT PLAYED FROM THE GOLD TEE,S. I PLAY FROM THE BLUE,S. THE FAIRWAYS LOOKED LIKE THEY WHERE JUST CUT. IVEPLAYED THIS COURSE MORE TIMES THAN I CAN COUNT, AND NEVER SEEN FAIRWAYS WITH THE GRASS SO LONG , AND CLUMPS OF DEAD GRASS EVERYWHERE. JUST KILLED ANY ROLL. HEY I ONLY PAID $10 (THANKS GOLF NOW).
Rough Shape
Can't complain, though, for $10, what can you expect? Was cart-path only due to overseeding, but there were hardly any cart paths - just extemely rough 'trails' to navigate. Greens in bad shape, all tee boxes were bunched together from the ladies' tee. Since the fairways hadn't been mowed, was difficult to locate balls. But again, $10 for 18 holes - can hardly complain.
Close, Cheap, Very Fun
First, let me begin with Full Disclosure: I have only played 3 courses in my short tenure with the game. I can say very easily, however, that Seven Hills Golf Club is by far my favorite. The bar staff in the clubhouse is second-to-none [prices there too], and the people in the pro shop make you feel welcome, even if you're a mid-20-something like me. Second time back, they knew my name. Small town feel, and that's the way they should all feel. Very welcoming, and very genuine. The only gripe is what you'll see going down the reviews: the bunkers play like concrete. If you want to hit out of them, go for it... but the traps are hard-as-nails.
Overall, I love this place. I come back often. You will too! :)
Flat isn't so bad
Booked online, easy process, at check in no problems. Guy at counter was pretty cool, I didn't notice booking had breakfast included we laughed that I didn't read the details. Course was wet, I get that it was morning, but couple traps had standing water, little marshland areas on the outside of fairway, where I ended up a lot. Took about 5.5 hours to get the 18, slow slow threesome that took lots and lots of practice swings.
Course has something for everyone
Playable even on HOT days. Enough shade to cool the heels while playing. Some greens are rough, but still worth the time and price range.S
Course is well kept
Being in an area that is notorious for Heat in the summer the course is well kept. The greens are a little rough in areas but that is to b expected due to the drought we are in. The round came with a free meal and they should take that off if they are going to offer food that taste like that. Sorry the food was not good.
My Preferred Course
I am an 80 year old with 65 years of golf experience. I find the open fairways and lack of hills friendly to my various aches and pains. I play 4 to 5 rounds per week so this gives me a good feel for the condition of the game in about a 50 mile radius. This course is among the best besides the gold T gives me a chance to shoot par since my length is not what it used to be. The greens putt true but are quite slow so do not take the breaks one expects. Enjoy!!
Nice layout but needs some work.
This course is a fair course and I would play again for the price of $10. Don't expect a country club course but it is a good practice course.
The good: price and the layout. I was worried it would be too narrow with the houses around but I hit most fairways which is rare.
The bad: greens and water on fairways. Some of the greens were in bad shape with dead spots on them. It's not due to the drought as some fairways had puddles of water and marshes in some spots. The second hole par 3 tee box had a tree branch hanging over it so the only shot is a low runner even though an 8 or 9 iron is all that's needed.
I'd play it again if the price is right for practice.
HOMES ARE CLOSE
This course is very walkable - flat. Wonder where the name Seven Hills came from? The greens are pretty good - mostly flat. Should score well but did not :(. Homes are definitely 'in play' on several tee shots.
Fun Place To Play
Greens are in good shape and layout makes this course an enjoyable one to play.
well kept up
good time, good, steady course. Enjoyed the day. 2:00 special drink prices are a +. friendly folks there.
The course is NOT well kept, and is definitely NOT a 5-star course.
