Indian Palms Golf & Country Club - Indian/Mountain
About
This course dates back to the 1940s and carries a powerful history. Dwight Eisenhower and John Kennedy played many a round at Indian Palms, back when it was called Cochran Ranch. Eisenhower loved the place so much, he wrote his memoirs at the ranch.
The Indian nine is the longest, with the most straight-forward holes.
The Mountain nine is probably the toughest of the three, with plenty of hills out on the course and plenty of slope on the greens. The Mountain nine also boasts a rare par-4 island green

STAY AWAY!!!
What a joke. Overgrown tee boxes. Dead grass/mud in the fairways. Grass in the bunkers. Even patches of dirt on the greens. Waste of $$$. Waste of time. Probably a good spot for a group of 10 guys who just want to get wasted and have golf cart drag races, but if you wanna actually play golf stay away.
Greens need improvement!
We played Mountain and Royal. Royal was just reopened, still needs improvements, the greens are so rough, you cannot get a true roll. Mountain is better; but, still needs improvements with the tee boxes, fairways.
It is getting better!
Indian palms
First and last time at this course. Not worth the money.
Complete Waste of Time
Do not waste your time playing here. Two notches worse than a goat track.
Never Play this Course
THE worst course I have ever played. Ants all over the greens. Gopher holes everywhere. Tree debris not cleaned up.
Do not waste your time on this course. Thank goodness we only played 9 but $35 was way too much. We couldn’t wait to finish.
Should be less expensive
Interesting course with some quirks and challenges, but in terrible condition. May be the time of year (one breed of grass dying while another emerges)? But the ants are actively undermining the greens and large sections of fairway had no grass. For some reason the electronics had been removed from the cart so we had to listen to a loud hum the entire round - very irritating. Also, we were sent to the wrong course to start (3 nines) so we had to race to another tee box so we didn’t miss our tee time. Probably won’t go back but the course has such an interesting history - Eisenhower played here, we may make an exception and play there again.
before overseeding so the course was not in great shape; some confusion about which nine to start on; not always well marked
Didn't honor my hot deal reservation
So I arrived 30 minutes early for my Hot Deal time. It was a excellent price $25. I go to check in and the guy says there's going to be a problem. I say what's the problem? He asks what I paid for the reservation, I tell him $25 and he says "I can't let you pay for that price, we've changed the price and now it's $70/ person" . I say "so you're not going to honor my existing reservation?" No answer, unbelievable.
I'll never deal with these guys again! Golf now looks like they are going to refund me but I have zero respect for Indian palms after that!!!
Wonderful course!
The course is getting better each day. The tees, fairways, and greens have improved over the past three weeks.
It has a great history and is one of the oldest courses in the Coachella Valley.
Yes, good place to play!
Who gave this mor than 1 star?!
Terrible condition- embarrassingly bad. I Ted's up on one box and the grass was so high that my driver was like hitting out of the rough!
There were massive weeds growing up through an iron bench! I should have taken pictures--funny, not funny!
Course is neglected
The course was in very poor condition with burnt fairways and very little green grass. The mountain course which we played first was in the worst condition with more dirt on the fairways then grass .. the greens were in terrible condition.. we played the Indian course for the second nine which was in better condition but not by a lot.. the sand traps had grass growing in them and were like hitting on cement.. truly a very poor experience at this course .The restaurant was probably that was only open after 11:00 was very poor and food was even worse to eat.. do not eat at this place.
Course is Better!
The course is now playable and it is a good place for all levels of golfers.
It has a great history and you will enjoy playing it now.
They have begun making toe course playable from tees, fairways onto the greens.
Course conditions
The course was in horrible shape from tees to fairways to greens to traps. I would not recommend this course to anybody.
Getting Better!
The course is getting better and the maintenance has greatly improved.
Fun to play!
Getting Better!
The course is getting better and the staff is working to get the course in a more acceptable condition that would be pleasing to residents and guests.
