Indian Palms Golf & Country Club - Indian/Mountain
About
This course dates back to the 1940s and carries a powerful history. Dwight Eisenhower and John Kennedy played many a round at Indian Palms, back when it was called Cochran Ranch. Eisenhower loved the place so much, he wrote his memoirs at the ranch.
The Indian nine is the longest, with the most straight-forward holes.
The Mountain nine is probably the toughest of the three, with plenty of hills out on the course and plenty of slope on the greens. The Mountain nine also boasts a rare par-4 island green

Beautiful Day
Weather was perfect and playing partners very nice. First nine had quick greens. Second nine not so much.
Indian palms
Absolutely the worst kept golf course in the valley
It should not be allowed on golf pass or anything else
It’s a shame that they don’t take care of the course
I was embarrassed that I booked it and had other people show up to play such a poorly kept course that I picked
Slow play and dirt fairways
It’s difficult hitting off hard pan. Fairways need water badly as there is little grass in good condition. Some tender loving care and water required.
Enjoyable
The Royal course had fairways with lots of non grass areas and a couple of the greens weren’t great with patches of no grass.
The Indian course has been recently replanted with grass on the fairways and greens. The fairways are looking great, but the greens are “slow” due to the new grass being kept longer.
It’s still an enjoyable course with good value.
Indian course
The course had just re-opened, there was lots of spots on the fairways that had no or very little grass, the greens were fine although some were still sandy. Ladies toilet was locked and we weren’t given the code.in the men’s toilet the seat was on the floor.
Terrible
The only nine open and we had to play twice. It wassoon to be overseeded. Simply put...an overpriced goat track.
This course should not be open
Royal was dead , not a green blade in site on any greens. Indian was cart path only which id fine, the greens were unplayable, grass thick n in patches with dirt, ball was like a drunk walking nhad to hit itas hard as you could n didnt gofar. They should refund all money. Never played on such a terrible course. I have played this course many times begore
Cheap and cheerful
Course in rough shape, everything kinda run down but cheap and we had fun.
Beware! Horrible Conditions!
GOLF NOW should NEVER list this course on their site. Shame on Golf Now for listing after so many negative reviews. I will not ever play this course again or trust Golf Now again! Tried to get a refund and was told there was no way! You played you must pay. PLEASE DO NOT PLAY INDIAN PALMS COUNTRY CLUB GOLF COURSE OR USE GOLF NOW WITHOUT READING REVIEWS FIRST!
Do Not Play!! Terrible Experience!
Paid for 18 holes for a foursome using Golf Now with cart. Upon arriving we were told that 2 of the 3 listed 9 hole courses were closed that we would have to play the only course open twice. The course that was open "The Royal" course was a disaster! Poor tee blocks, fairways and greens! Greens were either brown or PAINTED green. Tee blocks were not marked and were just rocks laid out. Actually the rate at the course listed was cheaper than the price we paid using the App. This course should NEVER be allowed to be booked on any App or even played! NO REFUNDS WERE AVAILABLE! Stay away! Cheers!
Worst course in the desert
The course is in horrible condition. Course isn’t watered so everything is dry. Greens are not maintained and are just dead grass and many have depressions and other defects. The starter was very nice.
The range balls are horrible, huge chunks missing and mostly broke balls and when I returned them after only hitting 3 balls none of the staff knew how to complete a refund. They asked me to come back after 4:00 to get my refund and when I did the manager was not pleasant or understanding and refused to issue the refund without the receipt (but the staff working didn’t know how to ggive a receipt if paid with cash).. there are multiple cameras in the pro shop so I asked the manager to check the cameras and she can see me purchase and then return the balls and she replied that she couldn’t do that then walked away.
WASTE OF MONEY. This course should be max $45. Anything more is overpriced.
Course Not In Good Shape
I hope the overseeding scheduled in a few weeks brings the “Royal” 9 holes back to life. Dirt patches in fairways and greens were hard, very short grass with dirt patches as well. I can’t speak to the other 18 holes at this course but they were in overseeding at this time and looked much better.
Not a GolfNow Hot Deal
Shame on GolfNow for even making this course a hot deal. After coming to the Coachella Valley for 20 years, I have never played a course in worse shape. And because it’s a GolfNow deal there is no recourse
We quit after 9 holes it was so bad. We did not want to play the same course twice. I understand the reseeding that has to occur in the desert and have played many course in November. But this course had greens that had no grass and dirt holes in them. It was like putting on concrete. The fairways were either dead or had grass so long it was seeding.
The only green areas were around the new construction where the show suites were and on number 9 by the clubhouse. Obviously the owner does not want golfers and is only interested in selling units. We will not be back until they get things sorted out.
And GolfNow should be giving refunds. I wouldn’t pay $20 to play this course right now.
