Course in great condition except no sand in any trap
The course is in great condition, but there was no sand in any sand trap. Dirt only. Extremely difficult to play out of.
Fairways and greens in the best shape we have ever seen on this course.
Pace of play
Forgot why I don’t play here anymore. Pace of play is horrendous. It was a Saturday but 6 hours is egregious.
Longest round ever
Staff is friendly, course layout was fun but our round was 5 hours and 15 mins! No Marshall and 8 minutes between tee times caused major back up on every hole.
Great local course.
Upgraded carts with GPS! Finally cleared the big water hole!
OMG
I feel they have invested money in every area except the golf course. The course is tired and it took three hours to play nine holes. We called it a day after that. We like the atmosphere and the people, but until they invest in the course and make any effort into improving the place of play, I won’t play it again.
Slow plah
The links at Lakeside could be really good, the fairways are decent and the greens are great. The pace of play is one of the worst I've ever been at. By hole two we are already 22 minutes behind time and by the time we finished nine holes, we were just over three hours.
Awful Conditions and Worst Pace
Do yourself a favor and DO NOT go here. It took 2 hours to get to hole 6 and there was no effort to make things faster. We were told sorry that’s just how it is. Half of it was flooded as well just such a waste of time and money.
Good course with reasonable green fee
Slowwwww
Very slow play. Golfers behind us kept hitting into us.
Cart paths are horrible. Some sand traps were hard as rock. Lots of drainage issues.
Nice layout but no Marshall or starter to help with the pace of play here
Very nice clubhouse, chipping green, putting green & course overall. Well kept fairways and greens. Supa fiya.
I play this course often.
In my opinion, this is one of the best courses in North county. I would like to play Arrowood or Aviara 9-10 times a month but that would not fit in my budget. Not saying the Links at the lake is a budget course but is fits in my schedule and my GolfNow app. Overall, fun course. Friendly staff. Fairly priced.
Not Worth the Price of Admission
I have played this course over 10 times now, and with them recently increasing the pricing this past year this course is officially off my playing radar. This is my local course, and the pricing matches that of a high end course, however the conditions of the course, with untrimmed grass, muddy patches on the fairways, as well as chewed up tee boxes, this course is not worth the price of admission.
If you are willing to pay 10-15 dollars more you can play at much nicer courses (Crossings, Twin Oaks, Native Oaks, etc.) Until the course is brought up to the rate that they charge you to play, unfortunately I will not be coming back
Course Needs some Attention
I have played this course over a hundred times over the past 30 years. I have always enjoyed the layout, forces you to use almost every club in your bag. The bummer part is they don't put the money into making the course a 4 or 5 star experience. Simple things like mowing the rough so you don't lose golf balls that were hit 10 yards left or right of the fairway. A few of the cart baths are so broken up that our drinks bounced out of the drink holders. I hate to say it, but this is my last round at this course until they fix the items mentioned above. There are too many other courses that for $10 to $25 more offer a much better experience.
