The Executive Course at Lakehouse

I love this course! Great to walk or ride. They moved pro shop downstairs which is more convenient but they removed drinking fountain. Bring water to course!

Course was overbooked on this Thursday afternoon with a junior tournament. No overpriced golf carts even available. Tesla charger was broken

Everything is great except for the perennially diseased 13th green and I don’t like to complain; wife and I play here once a week (almost every week), but the bunkers need new sand. They are hard dirt.

However, everything else about this favorite short course of ours deserves Golf Advisor’s #20 ranking out of the 100 best short courses in all of North America and the British Isles.

Drove down from Orange County to play a round with friends today. There was no one in front of us and a group of 7 followed by a group of 5 four holes behind us. There were 6 of us and we weren’t holding anyone up, following proper golf etiquette, and keeping really good pace so we decided to play together.

On hole 9 by the clubhouse, the manager comes out on the patio and yells at us to split apart, so we did, into a foursome and a double. A group of six white men drive by and nothing is said to them…

As we continue to play, a man comes by in a golf cart and talks to both of our groups separately, saying they take golf “seriously” around here. He continues to go past us to the next hole and hides behind a tree and watches our group. Keep in mind, there’s a group of 7 and a group of 5 being extremely rowdy and holding people up four holes behind us.

This obviously ruins the atmosphere of our round so I drive up to the clubhouse and the guy and the manager are there talking. Turns out the guy who was stalking us DOESN’T EVEN WORK HERE. His name is Martin and he’s a “local” that terrorizes women of color. Martin claims there was a shortage on carts meanwhile he’s on a cart by himself stalking our group when he didn’t even pay for a round.

It’s a reallyyyyy bad look for how this place is run when you’re letting a local terrorist of a man named Martin discriminate against people of color and letting him run amuck on the course stalking groups. Highly would not recommend this place.

Always in great shape but there was a group of 8 playing at the same time. I understand it’s was a birthday but we were told we couldn’t play 5.

Everything is great except the bunkers which are not sand but rather compacted DG which is impossible to hit out of.

Course was great conditions and was very easy to walk also easy to play not losing any balls. The sand bunkers need to be redone but that’s it. Greens were decent speeds and predictable.

Shortage of carts...several groups had to wait for carts.

Appears there was a ladies club playing and no carts were avaiable.

It's a great course, well marked, and it has a neat restaurant for the 19th hole. Just be careful of bees around hole 10. I guess since it's spring, they're out and about. The course gives you opportunities to hone your irons, PW & a few opportunities to flex your driver skills. Had a great round. Will definitely return when I visit San Diego.
