St. Marlo Country Club

The course itself is a fun layout and in moderate condition. The greens need some attention as people obviously don't repair their ball marks. Compared to other courses, for the price, its not terrible. It gets out of hand with the staff. Over half of the holes are cart path only, and heaven forbid you forget and get on the course. The range will tear down the middle of the fairway and yell at you, ignoring their own cart path only rule. We started the day with the group in front of us finishing their session at the range and offered us their leftover range balls. The starter jumped in and stole them away saying they have to be paid for and we cant have them. They'd already been paid for by that group, were just leftovers and he was incredibly rude about it. The restaurant does offer some good food after your round, but the girls working clearly wanted nothing to do with being there and working.

Will come back to this course only if it makes sense with tee times/pricing/other availability, but certainly wont seek it out.

Online rate was posted at 63.99$ but when we arrived they charged us 75$ each and would NOT honor the price! Should have left but really wanted to play! The course was in poor conditions with exception of the greens! (Very good) the sand traps had not need racked in forever, fairways just crap, and every other hole cart path only! ( new over watered sod) To top it off all the Marshalls were just flat out rude! Won’t be back EVER!

Always a great course/layout and in the best condition since late winter/early spring - Feb./March.

Pace of play good but not great.

Our foursome held up some by a threesome.

Last few times I’ve played have been very slow. Yesterday I lit took an hour to get through the first 3 holes. I want to play here but will probably have to pick a new place until they get things under control.

This course played well this past Sunday. Course management is important due to some dog legs. No cart person available due too short staff.

Greens were in great shape however a little slower than they should be, but not mad since they were kept really well.

I play this course every few months hoping that it will improve. It’s a beautiful setting with a nice layout and it’s close to home. In fairness the tee boxes and greens are in better shape then they have been and they finally have gotten most of the weeds out of the sand traps but until they do something about the drainage issues it will continue to disappoint. Yesterday was a prime example. With no rain in the last 7 to ten days, there were still 6 cart path only holes and there probably should have been at least 6 more. There is ground under repair on just about every hole. Played in the afternoon and it was not crowded. First 8 holes took about an hour and thirty minutes. Last 10 took over three hours with a wait on every shot as a consequence of poor spacing and delays on the long cart path only holes. If you don’t have a lot of time and patience this is not the place for you. Not to nitpick but the restrooms are gross and the ball washers are probably 20 years old and haven’t been cleaned or painted in 10. Both coolers on my cart were cracked with no top. This place needs some major investment. Shocked that it gets so many favorable reviews.

If you’re trying to keep your green fees around $100 and looking for an extremely well designed and well maintained course, St. Marlo is it. First time playing here and I will be back very soon!

I got there 30 mins before my tee time and checked in then went to grab a cart and there was no one in the cart shed and 0 carts either. There were like 6 people waiting for carts and I went back into the pro shop and told them and the poor girl who was probably the only one working had to go get people a cart, but there weren’t enough for everyone. About 20 mins went by and this kid finally came and was like "oh y'all need carts" The carts he gave us probably had half battery and our cart died on hole 14 and didn’t really get to finish. There’s like 8 abandoned carts on the course because they all probably died. Course itself is in pretty decent shape, but management has to do something about the cart situation that was atrocious

I guess they let 12 dudes sign up for 1 tee time so things were pretty bad. The other times I’ve played it was decent pace. Highly recommend this course!

The course is in excellent shape. The fairways and greens are perfectly maintained by the maintenance team. Straight balls favor the golfer with a few nice dog legs that make the overall play challenging. Rate of play nicely monitored and of course the St Marlo staff is top notch. Get out and play while the weather is still nice.

Course is in decent shape but extras not so much. Range mats were beat up, and balls even worse. Flat tire on cart during our round. Starter is on a power trip and personality even worse.

No notice was given that 6 holes would be cart path only. These holes on Tee Box, and around green where soaked. Hole 15 had more grass in sand trap than sand.
