Greens need work
Teh round was slow because it was cart path only. It rained the night before. The greens continue to be an issue. Lots of poeanna. The course is a great layout except for the gimmick ninth hole. I have played this course many times. I just wish they would put some money into their greens and cart paths. It is a challenging course. The range and practice putting areas are good. The food and service was good and the proshop people were very nice. At some point they have to do something with the greens.
So so
It's a very difficult course for beginners. It was hard because there were many hills.
Delusional
I’ve golfed here numerous times, first off there was nothing on GolfNow saying cart path only and when I asked their golf pro inside he said “GolfNow doesn’t know when it rains” couple things about this lol. 1. Hadn’t rained since Saturday I played Thursday. 2. Whenever there is an alert on YOUR course YOU notify GolfNow! We were also playing with family from out of town so one guy was sharing golf clubs. (We weren’t holding anybody up either) and when we made the turn they chased us down to charge us an additional $30 to rent clubs just because… for $70 a person you think the course would reflect this price. They had people working in the 5th fairway because the county laid a pipe in the fairway (probably something else you should mention idk just imo) they also claimed they put $200k into their cart paths which if true y’all need a refund because again, have played here numerous times and the cart path has always been atrocious. So overall, not a bad design course wise but like anything else it’s the people that make it and the golf pro, instead of just being like hey these are the rules we will let it slide today but next time everyone needs a bag. Kind of like I let it slide that I just paid $70 for the round not knowing it was cart path only, construction workers are in the middle of the fairway on number 5, and the cart paths are still trash.
What a shame
Pace of play was awful. We left after 4 1/2 hours and 14 holes. Greens were just fair and fairways worse. Too bad because this course used to be fantastic. And they still charge $99 to play.
Decent course in rough repair
This course needs a lot of love and time before we play again. Staff and practice areas are good. The layout is fun but the greens are banged up and there are way too many tee boxes that are on hills. Fairways are not showing any grass yet but you can still pay $93 a head to do CPO for 5 hours. Marshall is out there to keep your tires off the grass but he doesn’t keep pace of play too well.
What happened?
I know the weather has been challenging and it’s early in the season but this once well-maintained course is in terrible shape overall - with the exception of the e greens which are in very good shape. But wow… this course needs a ton of help.
Hard pass…
Apparently you can get speeding tickets inside the community lolI was doing 33 in a 25..whoopsies… and I was “restricted” access because I didn’t pay the $75 fine they sent me in the mail. The most hilarious part is when I was coming back from getting a money order…yes that’s correct, money order, the dude in front of me was given a speeding ticket / violation too and he was HEATED it just so happens he was the golf starter.. they fine their own employees. Oh yeah and the course not worth 25% of what you pay to play there. Course is in absolute garbage shape. Avoid at all costs.
Read this review, not the others
I read some of the previous reviews about this course and I was a little hesitant about playing here. Good thing I didn't listen. For the amount of rain we got throughout the week, the course was in pretty decent condition. Were there some mud holes? Yeah, a few but every hole had a drain and there was no standing water. Not to mention, we are still considered the Winter season. I will try to come back in the Summer to see how the course is holding up. The greens were good, the pace was fair, the layout was challenging for being my first time and the staff was friendly.
Poor course conditions and amazingly even a worse value...
What was once a great value and terrific course, sadly is no longer the case. Fairways were a disaster. Tee boxes were beat up. Pace of play wasn't great, but primarily due to fairways being a swamp and having to tiptoe through the mud.
Has been a few years since I played and the course has deteriorated massively.
Needs TLC - C'mon man
I understand it's wet and it's cart path only and clean in p[lace, but this is a giant mud pit. Greens in poor condition and mud surrounding nearly every hole. Par 5 even converted into a par 3 was disappointing, but things happen. This course has a good staff, but need TLC in a big way or start charging less than $70
I think most of the reviews are pretty entitled people. People complaining they're not allowed to bring beer (even though they were honest about it). Speeding in a residential area, being told you can't share clubs...what CC can you share?
So read reviews and trust or not. TO the commenter, not everyone is as entitled or so nit picky.
Why should I (we) trust your review not the others that are vastly different than yours and less than a month in posting?
Has the course condition changed that fast in three weeks or less?
My wife and I are intrastate golfers and golf early in the morning and right now the tee fee is $87 a piece (3-20-2023) in the WINTER still.
Nah--- I will pass for now.
