St Marlo June 7

Good course but they recently aerated the greens and put sand on them making them inconsistent and difficult to play. The golf shop said these conditions should last another week or two.

Nice layout. Not in great shape.

St. Marlo has some unique holes, with several involving water. It has good bones. However, it is not in great shape, especially when considering the cost per round. Some tee boxes have not been well-maintained. There’s even grass growing in some of the fairway bunkers, which definitely gives the impression that the course has been neglected.

great day on the links

Beautiful day on the links. The course is nice, and the layout is fantastic. Certain holes are narrow thus removing driver from your hands.

My primary complaint was bumpy and inconsistent greens.

Staff was great.

Bad Shape

The starter was pretty rude. We were moving out the way at the range so people could get by and he started yelling at us like we were heading to the tee box. Every sand trap looked like ground under repair. The greens had weeds growing through the divots and your putt would bounce all over the place. Very disappointed to pay $90 and a course be in that condition!!!!!

Great course and great round

I originally had a 10:50a tee time but the traffic in the area was bad and the line a the security gate for 15min (just be aware). Once I got there staff was understood and said the starter would get in.

Now I've read the other reviews about the starter being rude so I was pretty anxious to talk with him about getting another tee. He was great and even cracked some jokes with me. He gave me some options of when I could go. As I waited in the practices areas, I would see him walk over and let the next groups know when they had about 5 min to their tee. Great surprise after having an expectation after the other reviews. That being said, everyone was great from the staff to other members. People would introduce themselves like I was someone important. Wish I lived closer or I would consider joining.

The course was good. There were some areas that you couldn't hit off or drive on because they just laid new grass. Lots of good improvements on the course. The cart track was a little rough but it's better to put the money in the course rather than a sidewalk. Greens played a little slower than the practice greens but they were ok. Pace of play was good also.

Overall great round with some friendly people I was paired with. Great environment and felt welcomed. I will definitely be back soon.

Fairly nice course with a starter with attitude

First time playing this course and don't have that much complaint but they had a starter who does not treat the customers with respect. He noticed a cooler and I honestly answered some water and couple of beers. He demanded the beers to be given to him seriously and I refused and went back to the parking lot to leave it in my car. We had 3 some, 2 men and 1 woman and he literally told the men to keep the woman's playing pace in check. How disrespectful.

It's a shame that he ruined the mood of playing from the start, but the other employees from check in to the cart boys were very hospitable.
