Horrendous Cart Path
It was cart path today and the cart path throughout the course is horrible...in worsening condition. Is the golf club out of budget and loosing golf revenue.?. I don’t see any phased repair over the past 3 years. This is a very good challenging golf course but it’s greens need to be rolled properly as they are very bumpy and that makes the putting very frustrating.
Greens need work
Nice layout, bad greens, slow play for a Wednesday
Great Course
My friend and I play here for tournaments and individually. The course is always in great shape and the greens are fast. St Marlo is highly recommended.
Beware of fake paid ratings...
Logically impossible to rate this course 5 stars.. 3 at best. 2 for the price in which the conditions the greens, tee boxes, bunkers, and cart paths were in. I’m starting to think these 5 star reviews are being paid for... also, $90?? Get bent... I can play 36 holes at Stone Mountain or Reunion for this price.
Nice course but needs work
The maintenance needs some work. The Greens are showing signs of decay and dry spots that have not been addressed, The sand bunkers are awful. On some sand bunkers they just dropped new sand but no raking. Come on!! Really?? The the awful and dreaded cart paths. It is going to break somebody's back. Management please pay attention and do something. The course layout is nice.
Nice course but.....
The fairways were in good condition but the greens were terrible. Layout was good and pretty friendly for all players. We had a mix of 5-20 handicap players. $85 with tax is a little high for the course condition.
Fun course!
Great layout, but the greens were a bit beaten. That’s not the fault of the course, but the arsehats that refuse to repair ball marks.
Keep up the good work, St. Marlo!
Save Your Money!
I played this course with my son in August and it was a huge disappointment. The layout is decent - good elevation changes and some challenging holes with clear layup locations.
The course conditions were totally unacceptable for a course winding through a fairly affluent community. Bunkers with grass growing out of them (When were they last replenished with sand??), greens that looked like a topological relief map of a WW1 trench line (pitted, rutted, seriously damaged), and some fairways that were not draining correctly, leaving muddy patches. Just a genuine let-down all around.
The course had no problem charging us $75 each to play. They should have been embarrassed to take that much from us.
The staff were friendly and did not hesitate to help or answer questions. This is not a human resource issue; it is purely a problem of a course that has to be financially under water to neglect basic upkeep the way this one has.
ST MARLO ROCKS
Best public-access country club in ATL in my opinion. Period.
Not worth the money
The greens was not in good condition for the money. For a Sunday last minute round I would have understood but if the conditions don’t meet a certain standard. No thanks. I will is not play or advise anyone to play there again.
Great All Around Course
The course was in great shape minus the bunkers. It is a great test regardless of handicap. We played the blue tees and that was plenty for us ( two 10 handicaps). The practice area is nice and very convenient to the tee boxes. It is well worth the money and we will be playing it again.
Divots
3rd time play this couse as a new comer at neighborhood this year. Eventhough due to heavy rain ‘cart only’, many divots were there.
How about hand carry small bag of sand to repair? Thanks!
Nice course greens struggling
Course is beautiful with interesting holes and nice layout. Greens are struggling right now people not repairing ball marks and looks like heat is getting to them. One of the greens looks like they have just punched it again to save it. Bent grass struggles in the heat and I am sure they will come back. People need to make sure they repair their ball marks doesn’t take too much to do it!!!
I will be back and I am sure course will too!
Slow play, embarrassing sand traps
Other than Echelon, worst sand traps in North Atlanta. Not sure if maintenance folks know the traps are there.
Today, horribly slow. Almost 5 hours behind a clueless foursome
