Divots
3rd time play this couse as a new comer at neighborhood this year. Eventhough due to heavy rain ‘cart only’, many divots were there.
How about hand carry small bag of sand to repair? Thanks!
Nice course greens struggling
Course is beautiful with interesting holes and nice layout. Greens are struggling right now people not repairing ball marks and looks like heat is getting to them. One of the greens looks like they have just punched it again to save it. Bent grass struggles in the heat and I am sure they will come back. People need to make sure they repair their ball marks doesn’t take too much to do it!!!
I will be back and I am sure course will too!
Slow play, embarrassing sand traps
Other than Echelon, worst sand traps in North Atlanta. Not sure if maintenance folks know the traps are there.
Today, horribly slow. Almost 5 hours behind a clueless foursome
Practice Green Fooled Me.
Not worth $83.00. Don’t let the practice green fool you. Greens are beat up and some of tee boxes need some attention. Pace of play was also slow.
Poor upkeep
The fairways were well maintained. But the greens were in terrible shape and most bunkers haven't seen maintenance in what looks like years. The cart paths are almost unusable. Hold on and go slow, or you might eject your bag and all your belongings. The starter was also a little intense and rude.
Hilly & Ruffed up
The range wasn’t up for a warmup and the off course amenities were sparse. This is a hilly course and the tee boxes and greens are not well maintained.
Overpriced
Overpriced for the shape of the course! The greens weren’t in good shape and the course was just in okay shape.... for the money there are plenty of other courses to play! Was kinda disappointed with the value
Terrible course conditions
I could not believe after playing this course that they were charging $91.00. the greens are terrible, they are on the verge of being lost, the grass was very thin and shaggy. i understand if you do not want anyone raking the traps during Corona, but they should at least be maintained, there were six inch weeds in many of the bunkers and it was obvious that the course staff had not even raked them in months. several of the tee boxes likewise had not been maintained, there were several where there was little grass, and they were not level. speaking of the Corona virus, if they are so concerned about you not using a rake why during a surge in cases are they requiring you to share a cart.
St Marlo
Disappointed in the course condition. Feel like this course has the potential to be great but the overall condition of the course the day we played was poor. Also, extremely slow pace. It took nearly 3 hours to complete the 1st 9.
If they haven't fired their greens keeper they need to. This is a good course for $35 anything more and it's not worth it
Nice course but needs work
Nice layout of fairways. Tee boxes in great shape. Fairways in good condition. Sand bunkers are being repaired. Just not raked. Very scenic holes and fairly challenging holes. I hope the cart paths be addressed as soon as sand bunkers are repaired.
Not a good Round of Golf on Thursday
We paid for 18 Holes only played 10 holes. We had a foursomes in from and they did not not let us go through .
They we playing around all day. Not good people!!!!
Took 3 half hour to play nine holds.
This is the first time this has happen playing this course.
Best daily fee in Atl (so far)
Best daily fee in Atl (so far).
Caveat, I’m new to the area and was told stone mountain ”stonemont” was a decent course... And while it was an ok course, this course blew it out of the water for about the same green fee (and I didn't have to pay and additional $20 just to get on the stonemountain property...). Of the 4-5 courses I have played in Atlanta so far this is the best course I have found by far.
The above said, this course had an exceptionally good layout, with wonderful greens that ran fast and true. Note, this course is no pushover. I’d say it’s a true test without being unfair.
The course has no boring repeated ”meh” hole layouts. There was significant elevation changes to the point that this probably isn't walkable unless you are in great physical condition. The elevation changes on the property were fully exploited to the point of tee off on bluffs to a lower fairway with a water hazard green side, then the next hole might be a par three over the water hazard/stream you just negotiated on your approach. Then the next hole you might be playing a dogleg which slowly winds back up to the top of the next peak.
The course is making every effort to be ”beginner friendly”. The twosome we were paired with just bought clubs and started playing because of COVID, and the ranger did have to come to us to tell them to pick it up. Which they were good about. Once my partner and I started showing them the proper etiquette and how to do things more efficiently (even while learning) we immediately caught up with the group in front of us.
Got a “Hot Deal” for myself and son. Staff members were extremely friendly and helpful. The starter allowed us to start 10 minutes prior to our original tee time. Course was in very good shape except for the bunkers. Some of them need extra special attention. The greens rolled very true. Hats off to the cart boys at the end of are round. They got our bags off and into my truck with very limited amount of water getting on them during the thunderstorm. That saved our golf grips. Over all it was a very good experience and will play here again.
