Nice course
Course was in great condition overall except the bunkers which is pretty normal right now. Greens where in good shape and not to beat up. Would be nice if people took the time to repair their ball marks. Will be back soon.
Great day
The course is beautiful. Each hole manicured and well taken care of. Staff was very friendly and polite. Just an all around great experience. I will be back.
The sand traps are awful. Other than that the course is great. But the traps are ridiculously bad.
Disappointed.
Took the chance to be able to play at the last minute and decided on St. Marlo based on the availability of tee times and proximity to where we were staying.
Had to rent clubs. I'm a lefty, btw. Guy gave me the clubs and sent me on my way. They were super dirty and had to clean them myself. On top of that, the guy gave me a right handed putter. I figured this out before my round started and went back into the pro shop. Without hesitating, he said their only left handed putter was MIA. In other words, he knew he was giving me a right handed putter and didn't say anything. Basically shrugged his shoulders and sent me on my way.
I spent $144 in total to play and that's how I was treated.
Spoke to Ken at the pro shop the day before and the guy could not have been more accommodating on the phone. When I actually arrived, the guy working the counter could best be described as a younger guy who barely registered a pulse. and seemed like he hated his job.
Greens fees were not cheap. Overall, course was in decent shape with the exception of the bunkers. Almost all were extremely hard, had mud stains, and some had an algae/mold in the center.
The course marshall was really on top of his game and kept the pace up with a slow group. Saw him multiple times out there. Beverage cart woman was great and saw her all afternoon. Starter was a great guy who was really accommodating.
With that said, there are too many choices for golf and at that price, you just expect more.
Good Course
It's a nice course with little rooms from improvement. Pace of play can be an issue. Don't know why the Starter don't give 10-15 minutes between groups. Good to see sand bunkers are being repaired. I hope the next thing addressed will be the cart paths.
Nice Course but needs work
Very nice scenic holes on some of the fairways. Greens were nice. Some of the Tee boxes need repair. sand bunkers were being fixed (yeah!!). I hope they soon address the cart paths.
Pace of play could be better if the starter paced out groups after 12-15 minutes. The course layout is fabulous.
Great day
Course in great shape but people need to repair their ball marks on the green just lazy people. Started on back 9 they must have had an event and pace of play was slow and crowded for a Monday. Really like the course and it’s shaping up nicely. bunkers are in bad shape but saw the guys starting to work them while we were there truckingi in sand. I will certainly be back
Unfortunately my Last Time!!
The staff at St. Marlo is a friendly and welcoming staff. Due to the number of golfers that day, by the time I checked in around 3:50 PM they were all out of Range Balls. This is the 2nd time this has happened here but no worries. Pace of Play was rather slow even though we were playing so late in the day. My Tee time was at 4:54 PM. The course in my opinion and especially the cart paths needs a lot of work and attention. The Greens were very soft (and I suspect) that the previous day showers had minimal effect on it. There were numerous unrepaired divots on every green.
The most troubling portion of my round were the Bunkers and Greens that were poorly managed and didn't seem to be maintained whatsoever. I've included a few pics of some of the bunkers and it just left a terrible taste in my mouth. Sad to see this course look the way it does, as I truly feel this could be a very pristine course. Needless to say, this is my last time playing this course, unless someone wants to pay for my Round. I hope St. Marlo is able to turn it around until then I wish them good luck!
Course actually let’s you PLAY golf
I took my dad there for Father’s Day this weekend and the course was amazing. Easily the best course I’ve played at. Most golf courses make you play strategy where you have to avoid the big tree in the center fairway or there’s a narrow window off the tee box. This course had none of that finally. My only gripe would be that the cart path could use some touch up. It looks like the trees and bushes that line the path are uprooting the path and you have to drive carefully. Other then that I will definitely be returning.
Bumpy..
Course is in great shape save some tee boxes but those weren't the worst I have played on..
The main issue is the cart path, it is ridiculous that they charge what they charge and their paths are so horrendous!
Course is extremely fun to play but you have to drive slowly to save your back!
Tough course
course in excellent shape. Very difficult course, but fun. Still looking for a flat lie. Always enjoy playing this course.
Nice Course but needs work
Sand bunkers have not been addressed. You can see the fabric coming up. Duck poops are at many greens. The TEE boxes have ben repaired. fairways are nice and many holes are scenic.
Sand bunkers and some portion of cart paths needs addressing. Otherwise a very good layout of course. Some challenging holes too.
Fairway is good greens is junk!!!
I like everything about this course but the greens mess everything if only they fix that issue it will be a great experience please so something about the greens and bunker
One of my favorites
Course overall was in nice shape and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. The greens we in good condition. I little longer and slower than what I'm use to in past rounds but I didn't notice any burned out spots. If this helps protect the greens from getting burned out I'm all for it. It didn't take long to get use to the greens and it helped on those tricky down hill puts. Bunkers needed some work but that seems to be the norm at many courses right now with no rakes being out due to Covid19. This is a course I play at least once a month and will be back very soon.
Geese everywhere
Beautiful coarse and friendly staff my only issue is that the greens were covered In geese and their crap.
