Worst course I have ever played
I’m not one to write reviews but this was the worst course I have ever played. Mostly mats for tee boxes and the whole course looks like it’s been shut down for years.
Staff is rude
Wet carts for $24 and they just give you a dirty towel
Restaurant is nice… carts are all broken
These carts are dirty and falling apart … and they charge you for 2 people as a single rider… so be prepared to spend $50 to ride
Hitting off the mats is more like a driving range than a golf course
Staff are rude and unprofessional
This place operates like a miniature golf course… the staff are not adequately trained and the carts cost $25 … which is the cost of 18 holes !
Amazing value
Course was in pretty good shape. Greens were running smooth at medium speed maybe around an 8. Pace was a little over 3 hours seeing off at 630 am on a Sunday as there were 2 slower groups ahead of us. Starter was really nice and let me go out an hour early. Love coming here.
A course great alternate to range
It’s good if you’re just trying to improve certain shots of your game.
Great value
Course was in pretty good shape with some rougher areas around the greens. Greens were slower but smooth. Once you adjusted to the speed, easier to make putts as you could be pretty aggressive. Great mix of holes with 5 par 4's and 13 par 3's. Primarily teeing off mats but backside you have options to tee off grass or not. Started at 2:45 and done by 6:00 pm. Pace seemed slower with but pace of play was just over 3 hours for 18 holes. Staff was friendly and tried to accommodate getting me out early.

Not What I Expected
I read reviews before playing. One reviewer mentioned the state of the art hitting mats. (See photo)
This course was muddy, smelly, full of poop, grass was not manicured, hitting mats were in terrible shape, fairways were in terrible shape. The greens, however, were in great shape.
Course needs a complete makeover.
It good track for the beginner or someone trying to improve
This is my third time playing this course so I knew better what to expect. This course caters to the beginner or the person that is still getting their game togther and playing an 18 hole championship course is still a goal. Teeing off mats can be problematic at times but it's done because the course gets so much use that it would be impossible to keep grass alive. The holes are long enough to get in shot making but not so long to be overwhelming. The greens are ok but they don't break because they are very well stepped on. Overall the course is playable but it does have it's share of barren dirt patches and mud trenches. But in between you will find playable grass to play the game and greens that are decent. So go out and enjoy the Newport breeze and the fresh air. That part is never disappointing.
Labor Day weekend
Course was in decent shape. The greens were in excellent condition considering the fact that it is an executive course.
You get what you pay for
The course was confusing to follow. Lots of patchy grass and mud and the tee boxes were synthetic grass on slab of concrete.
