Los Lagos at Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club

The course is beautiful BUT pace of play is Horrible!!!!.... Made the turn after 4hrs!!!!...We Left...no way we were staying after that. They shouldn't over book or space it out more. Very disappointed.

Booked a 4 some that ended up teeing off almost 25 minutes after our scheduled tee time. Saw that there was foursomes and 5 somes in front of us walking. Had to wait an extended amount of time after every shot and at the start of every hole. At one point there was 4 groups waiting at the Par 3 hole 7 and the Marshall came by and said just wave up the next group and hopefully the pace of play will picks up. Took over 3 hours to finish the front 9 and decided to not do the back 9. The course is in beautiful shape but it’s hard to go back knowing this course has that much of an issue with pace of play.

After teed off 1st hole at 12:55,

it was stuck up from 2nd hole

we finished front 9 holes at 4:10pm.

It took 3hr15min.

Think about to play this course.

Rainy day. Got there esrly snd was told i was second up. A bot of scramble but got ready. No starter do a bit of confusion before we got going. Fairways snd greens in good condition layout is fairly simple but greens have a lot of challenges. Read reviews of really poor place of pay but rain must have reduced the crowd so really no wait at sny hole. 4 hour round walking the course. Good value for the money and will for sure play here again.

Really disappointed in the course management. Unable to get through 18 holes due to too many golfers being scheduled on.

Had 8:58 tee time. Tee’d off at 9:35. They have way to many groups and even with how backed up it was they were letting 5 somes go. If you can play this course in the early morning it’s well worth it. Anytime after 8 am is going to be a 5-6 hour round.

Started at 1:06 and could only play 14 holes because of darkness. Three groups to a hole.

So backed up.

The course itself is very fun and challenging. However it is consistently 6+ hours to finish any day of the week. Unless you play before 8 am you will be waiting for two groups on every hole. Well priced and a great course, just wish they didn’t overbook.

Unprofessional Staff, Major Delays, and Unacceptable Pace of Play.

​Service & Delays: The pro shop and starter staff were unkind/unprofessional. My scheduled 1:15 PM tee time was delayed, with the actual tee off occurring at 1:50 PM—a 35-minute delay.

​Pace of Play: The pace was horrendous and ruined the round. I experienced an estimated 10-minute wait on every hole, resulting in the first nine holes taking a staggering three hours.

​Conclusion: This was the slowest and most frustrating round of golf I have ever played on a Monday. I was forced to quit after the 13th hole.

​Will not be returning to this course again.

Horrible pace of play, had 9:49 tee time and at 9:49 I was in the 3rd up on first tee, so a lovely 25 minute delay off the bat. Some senior men’s league going on, wait on every hole, front 9 took 3 hours and 18 holes 5 hours and 30 minutes not counting the 25 delayed tee off. Tee boxes were in horrible shape with visible roots and all dirt. A dead rat on the car path just outside the clubhouse that no one bother to clean up. Marshall didn’t do anything to speed things up.

Have had better experiences on this course before, staff is friendly, the greens are good. I think key is to play super early or 9 holes late in the afternoon.
