Nice course
Nice course well maintain, good course to work on all parts of your game
Great grass quality and easy to play fairways
The grass is really great here compared with other executives. The balls are easy to find and there are no dog leg holes to lose the ball on. Greens are medium speed with a few fast ones. Always fun playing here and getting a lot of pars and birdies. They have night golf with a lighted course. I hear their carne asada tacos and burritos are good.
Great, quick round
I played at 6:30 am and played 18 holes in about 2 hours. Course played surprisingly well as frosty as it was with 45* temps. Greens ran good but had recently been top dressed with sand, this the greens when wetter ran fairly slow. As it warmed up they got better. The fairways were for the most part in good shape. It had a nice mix of par threes playing between 90-130 yards with a few longer than 170. The 5 par fours were shorter playing between 270-320. It was a fun quick course that was challenging. They had mats for most of the tees except for the par fours, you could tee off the grass.
Quick Round
First time playing here. Great mix of holes with 5 - par fours and most of the par threes were between 90-150 with a few longer ones. Course was in good shape as I don't mind hitting mats every hole. You just need to put a little more weight on your front foot to ensure ball first contact. Greens ran pretty true with a little sand top dressing. I played 18 at 6:30 am and was done in about 2 hours. Starter was very friendly and got me out a little early. Their was frost on the fairways that early but it didn't have an impact on my game. Great value at around $15 for 18 on golfnow.
Low Rent Executive Course
This used to be a cheap, walk-on executive course. That's changed a bit since COVID. The prices have gone up and it's gotten more crowded. The good news is that the staff and the patrons are friendly, it has a lively "sports bar," and they've upgraded their range with astroturf. Also, I was able to get a tee time on short notice, which is tough to do nowadays.
Great location.
We had a nice time golfing at Newport Beach golf course.
We were paired with a father and son who frequent this golf course almost every weekend.
It took just slightly over four hours to complete this course.
Great beginner course to lock in your iron game
Front 9 has a great course for warming up and testing your irons with various par 3s. The only thing I didn't like about the front 9 is that they use turf mats to tee from. So make sure you got some of those rubber practice tees or crown tees if you don't like hitting off a mat. The back 9 has mostly grass tee boxes and most of the par 4s. Par 4s are driveable for eagle opportunities
Exactly what I needed.
Younger golfer, around 20, kinda new to the game, switched from only going to the range to playing holes a few months back. I struggle lots on par 3s and saw this course on the app for a good price. Showed up at 6:10ish for a 6:30 time and they just let me go early. Didn’t have to talk with anyone but the starter, super chill. Pace of play was great for a Monday morning, allowing me time to look for mishits, but not too slow. You do have to cross a street but to be honest idk why people get so worked up about it in reviews, it’s really not that big of a deal.
Obviously it’s not perfect, but the parts of the course that needed to be green were green and that’s all that counts in my book. Only struggles I had were forgetting rubber tees on the 16th and 17th holes, which I had to jog back and get.
Great value, will be coming back.
Well.. it’s a course kind of
This barely a course. Better than Meadowlark, but not close to the level of Costa Mesa or Mile Square. You’ll see lots of dirt, hit off mats, poor green condition.
However, it does have some decent 4 par holes. 15 is nice. It’s a decent course to learn at, or if you can’t get a tee time somewhere else.
Playing the afternoon on a Friday is miserably slow. Morning on a weekday is pretty good pace.
Original Pizza is the in house restaurant. It has a great vibe. Lots of screens. A nice crowd. Original runs the snack bar on the turn and they pour a nice strong vodka lemonade.
The golf shop is nice as well.
