Good overall
Overall I like RSJ however there are a handful of spots either by the greens or on the fairway where it’s soggy/muddy. And it doesn’t seem like they are making any improvements. I’ve played here a handful of times in the last 4-5 years and it’s seems to be the same spots.
Terrible pace and management
Tee time was for 4:24pm but didn’t begin till 4:50pm due to lack of available carts. Then the pace was absolutely unacceptable. We finished the front 9 at around 7:30pm and had a random group of 2 just jump in front of us on hole 7. There was no Marshall to regulate pace of play or anyone who would check. First time playing here and I do not recommend it unless you have time to waste.
Conditions don’t match price
The conditions of the course don’t quite match the price. ~$80 for a weekday morning round felt excessive for the patchy fairways.
Rancho San Joaquin
The greens are very undulated, so make sure your approach shots are below the flag. Not a long course but has a several challenging holes. Played a practice round yesterday and posted 79. Friendly group and intend on playing here again.

Great for the $$ you pay
Last time I played was like a potato field, now it's a really great course to play for all levels.
Pace was so slow
12:57 round and we were 3 groups backed up on hole 2/3. I left at the turn. I know sometimes it’s beyond the control of the course but sometimes this course just goes so slow. There’s nothing on the front 9 that is cart path only as hole 1 par 5 was like that before going into a par 3 on hole 2 but just wish pace could pick up here. Want to love this as a local course so bad but pace kills it
Solid local course
The layout of the course is great. Its on the shorter side, but the wind can make it a little challenging. The greens are just tough enough to get you into trouble if you're not careful. Im not sure if they roll them though. I've played this course for the past three months consistently and the greens have remained kind of chunky the whole time.. Id give the course a better rating if they maintained a faster pace of play and maintained the greens a bit more. Overall a solid B grade for me though.
Pace of play was awful, barely got 18 in with a 240 tee time. The tee boxes are destroyed, the fairways are not in good shape and the greens are very slow and bumpy. Not worth the $
