played at 2 pm and did not quite finish but worth the money
Shadow Mountain Golf Course Needs Work
I was anxious to play at Shadow Mountain for the first time. With golf prices escalating in the greater Palm Spings area, the price on GolfNow was reasonable and on UnderPar very affordable. I was very disappointed. The course was in terrible shape. Unfortunately. fairways were patchy grass and dirt. Pace of play, while heralded as 3.5 hours, was very slow. Waiting time at every tee box was 5-15 min and similar for approach shots. I was told there are many beginners who come to this course, which contributed to the slow pace. If you are not a patient golfer,, this course is not for you. The best part of the course is the sand traps. They were well-maintained with a perfect amount of sand. Moral of the story, there are many good courses in Palm Springs. This is not one of them.

Older Course But In Great Shape
It was windy and not crowded at all. Staff is always helpful.

Course a little narrow and tight but enjoyed the play. Pleasant staff also.

Rough
Course is in rough shape overall, greens were pretty good shape. Not a great design. On the upside staff were extremely welcoming and helpful and it is a good place to have a beer and food from outdoor bbq. Very Palm Springs atmosphere which is fun with a huge putting course that is fun

Short and not that great
Played this course several times as my father enjoys playing shorter courses. Unfortunately the course is t nearly as nice as it’s been in the past. It’s a fun target golf that you can play with a driving iron. However for the price I’ll be playing several others before I go back if I ever go back.

Fairways and greens are too close, very dangerous. Really had to watch for balls coming at you. Fairways were poor, greens pretty good but slow.

The sand traps are not being racked, I think it is because the racks are not good and make it hard to rack the sand

Nice Course, Beautiful Scenery, Excellent Greens
The first time playing, we'll be back. Tee'd off at 2:00 and got in 16 holes by 5:00. The only issue was many of the fairways. They either have a water issue or the fairways need to be redone. That said, it was a great experience. Short course but has lots of challenges.

Enjoyable
Good pace of play::3 1/2 hr. round. Greens are in good shape, fairly slow. Fairways are a bit sparse. Miss the putting green and driving range.

Disappointed
Employees were nice, helpful, but course was in poor condition - lots of palm tree debris on the fairways. Fairway grass was very patchy, brown spots, bald spots, etc. Not worth the price relative to other courses in extended Palm Springs area.

Tight with very slow greens but affordable
Wanted an afternoon round at a short (5400 from blues) affordable course. Pace should have been 3.5 hours but more like 4.25 due to a couple slow 4-somes ahead. Course was too tight for non-precision 230+ drivers. Greens were painfully slow. Pluses were a very playable course with fairway woods, hybrids, and irons. It was fun, relatively easy to book a tee time. Very affordable.
