Lovely course with a mixture of challenge and forgiveness
I played here for the first time today and thoroughly enjoyed it. There’s some long par fours that will give you a challenge but the fairways are generally wide and forgiving. There’s some tricky par threes with challengingly placed bunkers (which I frequented more than I wish to share!). It’s far hillier than I expected which adds to the character of the course but was a challenge for my dad is who in his 70s. My only complaint is I got lost on more than one occasion! There should be some better signage and the course map on the scorecard can be confusing. For instance hole 7 and 12 tee off from the same box but you wouldn’t know that on the map. All in all enjoyable.
Great course
Really nice place. Challenging course with a variety of different holes and bunker challenges. There’s some holes that could be par 3’s and some par 5’s when they’re done as 3’s and 4’s but really enjoyable course. Recommend to get a buggy as would not have liked to walk that. Only thing I’d change is they let people start whenever so we ended up having a huge group of 8 in front of us split in two when in fact they were booked for 20 mins behind our tee time. All in all though, definitely worth it. Staff super friendly too.
Pleasantly surprised
When I stumbled across this course on GolfNow and saw it was the only real option at such late notice, I thought the course name “golf kingdom” would be an indicator of it being a pony little public course. However, we were pleasantly surprised when we got on the course and were a few holes in. It’s a short track, but an enjoyable one for most golfers. Greens were in great nick. Some drivable greens but you still need to play well to score well here. Would I go as far as saying it’s a hidden gem? The juries out. But I’ll be coming back for sure.
Golf Kingdom
Great starter course. That is if you don’t know any better. However, not a good course for the average golfer. Layout is okay, maintenance is appauling!!!
To be honest, for the money they ask, your better off playing a course with grass on it. Too many bald areas, really spoil your game. No course etiquette. It’s a free for all type of course where anything goes !!!
My advice would be not to play there !!!!!
Poorly run.
This par 64 course has some fascinating hole design, and is generally fun to play despite its shortcomings. Greens were in OK shape and the fairways were rock hard providing tons of roll-out. Not always a good thing. You have to have played it before and even then, the layout is very confusing. There are just a few tiny signs on some greens directing you to the next tee. We found ourselves covering hundreds of yards trying to find the next hole. Sometimes the tee box near the green, which looks to obviously be the next hole.... isn't. Then the search begins. Some holes have hundreds of yards between the green and the proper next tee. Proper signage would help a lot. There are not benches on the tee boxes and few ball washers (that work). The paths are dusty and if you rent a buggy, it will be filthy because they do not wash them between rounds. No bathrooms or port-o-potties on the course so women are really out of luck because the layout is very open. There are no pull-trollies. When you turn in your buggy there is a sign that YOU need to wipe down the cart with wipes and the wipe dispenser is empty anyway. Also, there is no rubbish bin there to discard litter or wipes (if they even had them). Long story short: it's an intriguing and fun course but the layout is whacky and the paths, tees, signage, buggy maintenance and facilities are sorely lacking. It would take nearly no money to fix all this, but whoever operates it is just too lazy to care.
Value for money
Was very good course, more than my high expectation!
Members only golf course
Members only guest green fees are high. Links style golf course sand based greens with true roll. This is a good practice facility however no par 5's. This will sharpen your short game. Stay out of the long grass.
