The course is a great layout and challenge. Too bad it is a long drive.
Practice area fine although not a fan of water range. Front nine layout was good. Back nine was not as interesting and too many homes. Dusty cart paths covered everybody in dirt. Not sure why they elected for gas golf carts. Seemed cheap. Bag drop was friendly. Check in experience was adequate but nobody made you feel like they were glad to see customers. Overall, despite cheap round, good enough to come back
Easter Sunday golf.
The facilities are well-equipped and the staff is very friendly. I must say that we experienced a significant backup on the third tee - (we waited 10 minutes to tee off before giving up and driving back to speak with the starter). He was super accommodating and explained that there were several families on the course with young children. They were accommodating these members due to the Easter Holiday. He offered to let us start on the back nine. From that point on we had a great day. The course is in good shape and the fairways have some beautiful moguls that are unique to SWFL. Greens are fast. If you don't mind all of the temporary ugliness of the construction machinery and detours this is a great course.
good course/ no clubhouse
Best part of National is the short game area !
Course itself is a good layout, with a couple of tricky holes with hazards you can’t see so know where you’re hitting it. Greens are above average for Florida, good size and manageable.
The worst course we ever played
Announced as new course is very understated - the entrance and the first nine holes war just a rural, under construction unpleasant experience. The back nine were somewhat nicer, but also a just finished course - the rolled lawn was loose and not a pleasure to play. The layout is - if you have a vision in apprx. 5 years - somewhat challenging and interesting - especially from the back tees.
The worst experience we made was a foursome ahead of us 2 players ( more a fivesome - playing with brother booze) slow as slow as someone can play ...... yelling, laoud, taking the chance to play off the tees - and then dropping a ball - mainly into the bunker - so not a really round of golfers but a party event that should not take place on a golf course. After 9 holes and mor then 2 hrs. we were too tired to follow them - and passed - the reaction was as rude as you can imagine. No culture - no etiquette - not real golfers.
No mrashall in sight - no one to complaint.,
We will never play that course again - may be in 5 years we may think about it - but there are much more better courses in this area. Better use them.
