Confidence Builder
This course is a confidence builder for the novice player, due to its length. It also presents a challenge with its par 3's (10), which range from 155 yards to 209 yards. The fairways are fairly wide, and with few hazards. Pace of play is not usually a problem. Definitely a real deal for the price. Oh yea, bring your short game.
Nice
My first time playing golf in 3 years. Just right for me to get back in the swing of things. I'll play again next week.
great course for a great price
friendly staff that make it enjoyable to come play here. greens are kept well. Its nice to come to this course and walk it. the price is good for what you play for
Good value
Great value for this course. Friendly staff and course is in decent condition, for the money. Great place to get a friendly round in. Holes are pretty straight and average distances, but long par 3's.
Check em out!
nice greens for a good price
Got paired with a walker. Didnt slow play down too much. Good long par 3s keep it interesting.
Good value
The day was a bit cool and overcast had rained earlier. Tee boxes were rough. Greens were average. Overall an average course, but a good value. I will go again.
Good learners course.
If you want speedy greens, great bunkers and lush fairways, Cordova is not for you. If however you have a beginner with you and you want to work your irons go for it! Fun track!
Please don't put me in this position.
I don't want to sit shotgun with somebody I don't know and can't trust to provide a smooth non-jarring ride through 18 holes of play...Nor, do I want to be put in a position to ask the other golfer to sit shotgun so I can drive after he has already been issued a cart. When I book a round and it says, " 2 or 4 players ", I know the course expects to issue only two carts per group of four golfers. Otherwise, I expect to get my own cart when by myself or with a threesome. This has always been the case in my 50+ reservations this year and my expectations have always been met. This course and all others have previously followed this practice until this day. If the course management has decided this is unfair to them, they should ask a few bucks more to begin with to compensate for the additional expense of charging the carts. Or, please just follow the proper language format on the websight. Just don't surprise me with an additional cart expense at T time.
Good golf
The 3 par 3's in a row tend to slow play but if your not in a hurry then this place is good.
Good Value
Nice Course. Upkeep OK but less than average. Not much drinking water. Greens only fair condition. Many bald spots and standing water spots on fairways. Staff friendly and competant. Food in restaurant and service good.
cordova
It was overall a nice, friendly, moderately easy course,
I enjoyed playing there and staff are very friendly. It's good for any type of golfers, I would play it again any time soon if you offer this price, $10/ride is hard to find.
Thank you.
man at desk very rude
poor customer service check in was rude and out of touch with reality
Good Iron Practice
This is a short course so it is good because I need to practice on my short game.
very dry
had fun pretty easy course too dry grass was very hard
Deceptively challenging.
Longer par 3's and smaller greens make this course more challenging than you would think. The fairways seem wide open but somehow this links style course seems to have its share of golfers playing in your fairway. There really isn't much in the way of water hazards except on a couple of holes and the few traps protecting the greens are quite muddy. If you don't want to scar your wedges you need to stay out of them. The greens are mostly flat and slow but at least true. There's a guy that comes around with a water bucket so you need to bring your own bottle to refill. There are no buckets on the course. You can get on and off this course in 3 hours early in the am or on a hot day in the afternoon. Between 8:00 am and noon its pretty slow since many locals like to walk the short, flat course. But, for the price of a large bucket of balls on most ranges you can get a "Hot Deal" and practice all your clubs on the course!
New Start
Not from the Sacramento area, but have a friend here from Houston and wanted to meet up between Stockton and where I live. Went on line and found a short course that would not kill us since we had not played in several years. This was just the right facility to do this at. Not very difficult but has enough to challenge a new golfer or one that hasn't played in a while. The weather was excellent and though not the championship course quality, it was a very good value.
Best bang for your buck!
Can't beat the price! An easy walk. Has some length for a short course. Down side that it can get stacked up an pace of play can slow dramatically.
Horrible greens, easy course
Might as well make the greens condensed sand, would probably be faster than the ones in played on yesterday
Why all the crabbing?
You newbees to Cordova want Pebble Beach? If you would have seen this course 10 years ago then you have a right to complain. But now it is a great place to spend a beautiful afternoon for $15 with a cart. Because you can score a bit, it makes you feel good about your game after getting slaughtered at Apple Mt. or Darkhorse.
I agree! 10 years ago the course was in much worse shape!...all in all, a good value.
