Great quality course for the price
Ive been to some courses that cost more that were in much worse condition than cordova. Honestly the price did scare me at first never being there not sure what to expect for it being so cheap but overall i was very pleased. The course is smaller but my group and I had a great time
Great Value
We were looking for a beginner friendly golf course, my wife, son, & friend have not played in a few months. We all enjoyed the course it was challenging & in maintained condition. One complaint, the sand traps were very sparsed. It took 5 hours because we were slow.
The greens were in great shape
I loved the course I would play it many more time. Next time I'll bring a guest with me. I'm telling my ftiends about the great course.
This course is a great course for all levels of play.
This course is a very well maintained public golf course. The course layout caters to skill levels from beginner to intermediate level of play. The pace of play is great and you never feel rushed on the course. The staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome every time you play.
Poor upkeep, terrible pace of play!
Hard to find grass around the greens, mostly dirt. Brown grass and dirt patches all over the fairways. The driving range was wet, soggy and dirty. Whole place looks run down. Went to buy a drink and a snack and when I pulled out my card to pay, the employee said "you might have to pay cash". He pulled out a card reader attached to a phone to accept payment from my card. After several swipes he said it worked (I'll be checking my bill).
Good value for dollar. Great staff.
A good place to work on short game as there are many par 3 holes. Not much trouble. Course in ok shape for September. Staff is very accommodating.
Manner is an issue...
Can’t complain the price (thanks GolfNow) but it would be better if the young staff in Cordova could service or learn a bit manner from their older staffs.
Good course Kinda rude staff
Made a reservation for a tee time for 1 as I like to golf by myself since I am very new and dont want to hold anyones game up waiting on me. This has not been a problem at other courses Ive been too and most other staff are very accommodating. Here they were rude about the issue when I asked as if they were over crowded and over booked. My 4some were called and we all Teed up. I let the other 3 keep playing as a few of my shots were off and I was taking a little longer. Never once did I have anyone play up on me. In fact there was a solo player 2 holes behind me and he never caught up to me so I dont see what the big deal was.
Anyway on to the course itself. The course seems like a good course for a beginner. A few holes can be a little challenging if you slice your ball like I do. I lost 3 into the water but overall a frustrating but good round of golf. Also there looks like a section of the driving range that is grass instead of artificial turf which is nice.
Fun little par 63 course.
It is a par 63 course, 4 par 4s on the front nine and one par 5. Back nine has 3 par 4s. Most par 3s are a good challenge because their length is from 160 to 200 yards. Two of the par 4s are 300 yards, the rest are 350 to 400 yards. Not many sand bunkers, but enough you can land in one easy enough to be a challenge on a few holes. Very fun little course. I will be playing it more.
good to tune up your iron play
Very easy setup and very straight. Good for tuning up your iron play because a lot of longish par 3s. But beware dont get used to these greens. They are so slow they will ruin you for any other average quality green. But still a good value for the price.
The course is good but its the staff that make it great! Love these folks!
Good course but the staff is what make CGC a fun day. Great staff.
Fun time
We had a great time and played w/two other individuals. Would play the course again. After the first couple of holes, play picked up and ran smoothly.
Better than average
The staff were super for an inexpensive public course here in Sacramento. They had a water and ice cart that traveled the course in a timely manner. The fairways are in great shape and the greens were in above average shape. Pace of play was fine and my friends and I had a great time. I look forward to another outing at Cordova.
Great Price!
Got a deal on Golf Now for $4! Even if it was much more expensive great course!
Fun course, completely flat, minimal hazards, everyone friendly.
Cordova is a lovely little course for a quick 18. Wide open fairways, no hills, not much in the way of hazards (serious ponds on 9, 10 & 18), but you'll use every club in the bag. While you won't see the U.S. Open here anytime soon, there's a reasonably challenging mix of par-3s and short par-4s, with even a par-5 thrown in there for good measure. (Admit it, a 100-yd wedge to a green is pretty much the same no matter where you play...) I've done Cordova 6 or 7 times over the past couple of years and found everyone, from fellow hackers to club shop workers to cafe attendants, to be friendly and service-oriented. An excellent value for the money, I absolutely intend to go back.
Friendly staff, excellent value, great place to work on your irons,
Great place to learn. Great value and friendly staff and golfers
Great beginner course
I only play about 4 times a year when im on leave. I always play this course at least once a year when im home visiting.
Great Muni course for all
Cordova is flat and level. Great for a challenging 18 hole walk. We played few days after greens were areated and they were terrible but when they are normal they are great. Tee boxes need some attention, bit rough. Staff keeps water plentiful and grill is good. Great rates for play, range and equipment. Pro instructor the best.
Relaxing short course.
Had fun. Took my son out, who is just learning the game. Some of the greens were under repair, but not too bad of a problem. Definitely will be going back. Good course to learn the game.
