Pace of play
After waiting ALL day for the foursome in front of us, we let a single play through of us on #10 only to have him join the foursome to create a super slow back nine

Golfing with buddies
Green were in really good shape. Challenging course layout with trees. We had a great time. Very friendly staff. We play that course about 5 times a year. Looking forward to the next round.

Lovely day, lovely play
There was a lot of trees, slow play due to crowding, good friendly service, challenging holes, some of the ravine's caught me off guard on a few holes, but it was a lovely day with lovely play, 3rd time playing course.

Where's the grass?
Right off the bat, I want to say how warmly I was greeted by the staff, they were very well organized and helpful. I was paired with a father & son who knew the course (my 1st time) and we had a great time playing as a three-some. Things moved along nicely and overall, it was a fun round.
However, the grass on the fairways was very sparse and it was bumpy and inconsistent wherever you stood. Even if you thought you hit a good drive, you'd be hitting most of your shots off bare ground. Thankfully, it was still 'winter rules' and we took full advantage of lift clean and place. Greens were in pretty nice shape and the area around the greens was by & large well cared for.
All that said, I would play again having a better idea of what to expect. It's an older course that needs a pretty thorough revamp, though.

In the Woods!
Great course and Staff! Awesome course that makes you think about keeping your driver in the bag if you don't hit straight. If you end up in the trees laying up is your only option besides using the 'foot wedge'. Club selection off the Tee is critical. I had a great day and the hot dogs were perfect!

Great employees!
The course has improved dramatically in the last year. The greens could still use some work, very bumpy.
My issue is with the women’s restroom. The lighting is terrible and the lights flicker constantly. I have mentioned it many times but nothing has been fixed.
It would also be nice to have some women’s apparel to buy. I’d love to have a shirt with the course name on it. Socks and pink towels aren’t much.
All of the employees are very friendly and helpful! Kudos to Bob, Dave and Cassie!

Better than expected
The last time I played Sherwood Forest a couple of years ago, the course was in complete shambles. It’s still an average muni style course but it was playable from tee to green.
I was pleasantly surprised at how much the place has improved since my last visit here.
Fairways are heavily lined with trees so I’ll probably give it a go when I’m in the area during the hot summers

Pairing with strangers?
Bad enough I’m golfing with friends and the golf course makes us pair up with strangers to to play 18 me and a friend had to pair up with 2 strangers.

Long drive for a fair course
Challenging course due to trees on every fairway. Most of the holes are short, so play from the blue tees to make it more of a challenge. Greens are not very good. Expect lots of bumps and an erratic surface. The staff are very friendly (everyone I came in contact was very pleasant; I spoke with 5 different staff members)

Great for beginners . Good for pros to practice shaping drives
Not much to this course. Built on an Old orchard farm , surrounded by other Orchards farms. Tee boxes, fairways are Hard packed soil , so good roll out on any biffed shot as long as you keep it straight. Greens are fast and dont hold any shots from the fairway or rough unless you’re flopping a shot from 50+ft in the Air. Good amount of left and right dog legs that can help you practice a Draw or fade drive.
Had to leave after nine holes. Pace of play was horrible, for how small. Probably cause of all the amateur players. Range balls are horrible, good thing alot of people lose their balls into the range.

Great Features
Beautiful course among oak trees and more. Great staff and groundkeepers. Stacy is doing an amazing job getting course back in excellent condition. Only major issue are the fairways. All 18 need redoing with new grass and soft ground. With most fairways the ground is hard as a rock. Golfers need to get divot when the ball is struck. I believe Stacy will get the course in excellent condition in due time For the cost to play Sherwood it’s a no brainer. WORTH THE MONEY. The course alone is worth the price of admission. Can not get a better deal!

Scenic
It actually looks like a forest. Many holes with different challenges. Good friendly staff. Didn't mind the check-in and other amenities outside. The pull cart had big wheels which is good for the terrain. Easy to push. .
