Decent
All the main tee boxes were being reseeded. Course plays short and now is really short because ladies, white and blue tees are all together..... course was in decent shape just played very short....
Amazing
Best course for the money. Grounds were well maintained. Greens were smooth. We had a great time
Be ready to wait
I’ve never in my thirty years of playing golf waited more than 10 minutes for our turn when having a tee-time. Today, this club made us wait over an HOUR to tee off from our original tee-time. No apologies, no explanations other than lack of carts. Don’t use Covid or any other reason for this. I’ve played plenty of courses during covid without these issues. It’s just plain lack of course management and planning. If you only have a certain number of carts than plan for that. Save yourself the headache and find somewhere else to play.
Cours is looking good
Course was in good condition staff was great and greens are in good condition
Tree lined
I was late making my reservation so got a 12:30pm tee time which was fine because the weather was fairly cool. It was walking only because of the Covid 19 restrictions which wore us out as we quit after 9 holes. It was a good little course and good for practice. I would have preferred foam in the cups rather than raised cups. We enjoyed the coutse/
Overall Opinion
Generally enjoyed the course. Most greens need attention. Due to Covid, no golf carts but push carts are provided, They need lots of work, not clean or well cared for. Personnel were accommodating but did not provide any hand wipes or disinfectant. May return but not soon!
Better hit it straight!
I made the trek down from Modesto to check out this course, tucked at the base of the Kings Canyon Park. I consider myself a pretty straight hitter of the ball and tight courses don't bother me much, but there were some holes out there from the Blue tees that made me feel claustrophobic but I enjoyed the challenge. Staff was very accommodating getting everyone checked in amid the COVID situation and making sure everyone was aware to play ready golf on the course. Conditions of the course were fine considering the situation. I really enjoyed my time here and hope to get back soon.
Had a great time!
I have been playing Sherwood for years. Looks like staff has put alot of effort to maintain course and it shows! Greens are great and holes are challenging. Recommend you give it a go
Tight Faiways.
Course is in really good shape. Greens were trimmed nice and fast. Bunkers had actual sand in them . Lots of oak leaves on some greens. It just tat time of year I suppose. Couldn't beat a $20 round next to the river!!
Fun, tight course
For the Fresno area, this course stands out with its layout. It's a fun challenge and my favorite course to play.
Fun Course
I booked the tee time same day and received a call letting me know that due to heavy rains that week, they were not allowing carts on the golf course. They allowed me to cancel if I wanted, but I played anyway.
Nice course despite the weather conditions.
Watch out for hole 9. I sent one deep into the creek/bushes, and as I went to look for my ball it was in the middle of the fairway 75 yards from the pin. Coincidence? I think not..... happy golf ghosts yes!
Awesome course!
First time play ,had a great time! Will be back with friends soon.

Everything is in good condition. Greens slow but mostly smooth. Still a few tee shots (8, 9, 11) where the back tees are blocked by trees. Shaping shots is part of the game, but when the only line off the tee aims you directly at the trouble it is time to trim.
Jan 2018
Winter dormancy with areas of green. Greens on the slow side but most were in good shape.
A noticeable improvement over last winter
A Possible Return To Glory Days
I first got hooked on golf playing in a scramble here 30+ years ago, and typically play 9 holes or practice here 10-20 times each year. The past few years the course quality has tumbled quite a bit, most likely due to the extreme weather and perhaps some neglect. But in past few months great improvements have been made. Played 9 holes this past weekend and wow...best greens and fairways in years. If they can maintain this quality I would expect more tournaments to return here. Nice staff too, great little clubhouse, and good range.

Quick update
The course has made big strides to returning playing conditions to normal levels. Still a few areas to get caught up on, but the work they have put in is very noticeable. Kudos to the grounds crew for such a quick turnaround. Once again this is the scenic fun course I remember. Did I mention the trees always being in the way. The tee shots on 8 and 11 are small gaps and 9 was all the way back and required a big fade/slice.
Thank you for visiting us at Sherwood Forest Golf Course. We truly appreciate your 4-star feedback and hope you join us for another round soon!
