Elkhorn Golf Club

We booked tee time online at Tee-Off with excellent price for 12:10pm tee time. The services and staff very friendly. The rate of play very good and the greens was very good. Highly recommend this course.

Just a big thank you thank you too all the staff that keep the course looking so great and is just getting better. Fun course and challenging course to play. I hope players take seriously the helping of keeping the greens in good condition by fixing their divots on the greens. The staff works hard keeping the course in nice playing condition and a little respect would go a long way . 👍🏽

The tee boxes as well as the greens were beat up …..Lots of ball marks. The play was extremely slow, (2) 5-somes and a 4-some. that appears to playing for $1M, a putt? I finally jumped 3 holes ahead, as they won’t let me play through. In summary, last time for me.

Great course to play , play it about 2 to 3 times a week , but course would be much improved if real sand was put into the bunkers around the entire course. And water put into golf ball washers & cleaning towel. Maintenance crew has course looking awesome but the bunkers need real sand , not dirt & mud.

I grew up in Stockton in the 70’s-90’s and elkhorn was private and the homes on it were so well manicured. So sad to see the course in this condition but especially the homes…just absolute trash. I’d say about 1/3 of them are still nice but the others….clearly rentals. We played the blue tees which were in disarray. On #2 they were sitting atop the cart path curb. On a few holes they were sitting together like trail markers. The maintenance of the course was not very well kept. The pace was bad and the marshal didn’t seem to help much. For a $32 “Hot deal” it was worth it but I would not pay above $40. In their defense it was 100° outside AND on the tail end of a terrible heat wave. Also in their defense, with the cost of labor, water, fertilizer and chemicals, insurance, F&B….all golf courses are struggling, especially California. Did I mention “Stockton”? Not the same town I remember as a kid.

We played in 3 hr 45 minutes on a Saturday. Hard to do better than that

Greens were in great condition and cause layout is forgiving, yet challenging.

This is a great challenging course, and they have great deals on golf now.

Another perfect weather with a little breeze, perfect pace of the play. Finished the round in less than 3 hours, first time in a while. Good score but no birdies, blaming the tricky hole locations. Too many near misses. Perfect fast greens, improved from last week.

My wife got showered on for 4 seconds by an unexpected sprinkler shooting up. Cleaner fairways than last week but lost 2 balls in the fairway rough. Potholes were not repaired still so watch out. The ponds needed fresh water or need an outlet to eliminate the stink.

The pro shop seems to have a good variety of merchandise but the prices stopped us from getting them. We like buying our gears at a pro shop but unnecessary at high prices.

Elkhorn is our place to go for a good weekly round of golf. We go to Arizona if we feel like traveling and have one or two rounds of golf. It’s perfect now than later. It will be too hot to play golf later on.

In the mid-80’s with a little breeze made the game really enjoyable. Friendly players also helped to finish the round in less time than usual 4 hours. It seems like today is the best day of the week for us with fewer players on the field, probably because the maintenance staff work today.

Greens are fast and the hole locations play several tricks so I missed several birdie opportunities. Fairway roughs are high but not a problem finding the balls. The pond next to the #10 green is saturated with duck refuses and stinks, needing some. serious cleaning. Bunkers are very shallow so they need more sand. Still playable though. There are some potholes in the back 9.

Appreciate the new carts. They are great.

All in all, it was great to go out there playing after 3 week-long traveling.
