Sunnyvale Municipal Golf Course

The course was a little dry but very playable, good pace of play which is always good!

My friend, Vijay and I got paired with a guy named Perry and a lady named Choi. Both of them were just above our level of play but we stayed playing good golf on each hole.

The tee boxes were good and clean of broken tees, last time

here no one kept them free of debris.

Fairways were were cut nice and greens were in great condition.

Again very few ball marks on the greens.

We got a little behind around the 7th tee but we just slowed our pace to eliminate a wait time. The foursome behind did the same so we never felt rushed.

We will definitely play again.

Like many courses in N CA water problems affecting the quaity of the fairways, leaving many uneven and bare spots. The off FW areas are mostly bare ground and more squirrel holes than I have ever seen. The tee areas are not in great shape uneven, some crowned and often either very loose soil or hard packed. greens are OK but slower than I ever seen, not been rolled for a long time but they were in good grass shape.

the greens were fine, but the fairways had a lot of issues, lot of dirt, lot of divot marks.

Over 5 hours run, marshal need to control pace of play.

The ONLY plus are the new carts. Otherwise pace of play is nuts. 5 hours through hole 12. Tee times every 7 minutes is silly given this is a muni and most players are 100+ hcp. No amenities, no water, no beverage cart. Bunkers right now are cement, as in you do not need a rake because walking or hitting out will not leave a mark. Saw two people get hit today. Fairways are pretty bad (understandably due to water regulations). Really missing Jeff in the Pro Shop and a Marshall out on the course. We are regulars here - at least 25 rounds a year. Sunnyvale really needs to get their act together and take care of this course.
